Hawkins Curse || Steve Harrington x Reader ||

Summer

I gasped for air as I woke up, I was still having those episodes. I got up and took a shower before grabbing an eggo and riding my bike to the new Starcourt Mall.

I arrived and chained my bike. I walked in, the sound of people chatting overtook my ears while bright colours over took my eyes.

I walked around for a bit trying to decide where I would get a job. I eventually ended up at a music store, I instantly went in and asked if they were hiring which lucky for me they were. I applied and after a series of questions I got a black vest - I would start Monday- I decided to get something to eat to celebrate so I went to an ice cream shop, 'Scoops Ahoy'

As I stepped onto the blue and white tile sailor music filled my ears. I walked in line behind a group of girls, as I saw the employee turn around to serve them my heart dropped. Steve. I thought to myself, I quickly made my way out of there.

*Steve's POV*

I finished serving some customers when I saw a girl with medium length y/h/c wearing a yellow sweater walk out. I instantly knew who it was. Y/n I thought to myself.

"So why do you ignore her?" "Ignore is a strong word." Robin and I were talking while closing up. "Whatever, why aren't you talking to her." I stayed silent. "Steve." "Because...I-" I stuttered. "Oh come on you're constantly talking about her-" Robin stopped and stared  at me. "You constantly talk about her." She said in a different tone, grin plastered on her face. "Steve Harrington's inlove." She said poking my shoulder with a finger. "I am not- well I don't know Robin." I slid down the wall outside the store. "I mean I keep pushing her away in hopes I don't have feelings cause I don't want to go through that heartbreak I felt when Nancy dumped me."I put my head in my hands. "Pushing her away isn't going to help." Robin said as she sat next to me. "I know...I do miss her a lot." I said looking at Robin, she hummed in response. "Come on if we don't leave now we'll get locked in here and I don't feel like getting killed in a mall." Robin stated getting up. "You watch to many horror films." I said getting up.

I dropped Robin off and decided to go visit y/n, I pulled into the Byers driveway and knocked on the door. "Oh hey Steve." Jonathan opened the door. "Can I speak with y/n?" "She's not here. She moved in with Hopper." "What? Why?" I was confused, "Wow, it's been that long huh?" I just looked at him. "Y/n's upset you haven't talked to her, she talks to me a lot. Hopper adopted her so she moved in with him and El." Jonathan explained. "Uh..thank you.." I was about to walk away when I was pulled back. "Listen man, don't go breaking y/n's heart more than you already have. Just come straight out with why you haven't been talking to her." Jonathan looked worried. I could tell Jonathan cared for y/n. "I promise."

*Y/n POV *

I was listening to music in my room when I heard a thud on my window, I opened my curtains revealing a Steve Harrington, I rolled my eyes and closed my curtains.

I heard more knocking, I opened my curtains again. He was gesturing for me to open the window, I shook my head. He looked at me with puppy eyes.

I opened the window and climbed out. "If Hopper finds youre here he will shoot you." "Please meet me at Scoops tomorrow morning." "I can't I have work." I said crossing my arms, I hoped he couldn't tell I was lying. "On your break then. I need more time to explain myself. Please just give me a chance. "Not tomorrow, Dustin's back tomorrow." "Fine, then after tomorrow." Steve pleaded I Sighed and climbed back in my window. "Night Mouth breather, see you then." I said as I shut my widow and closed the curtains.

*Steve's POV*

"Night Mouth breather." I hadn't been called that for a while. Just seeing her made me want to melt, I wanted to hug her forever and spend the rest of my life with her, she's the reason I'm alive she's the reason I am who I am today.
