After dropping Max, Erica and Lucas off and headed to Eddie's trailer.

"Okay. I wanna run through it one more time." Nancy said, as we all sat in the stolen RV.

"Phase one." "We meet Erica at the playground. She'll signal Max and Lucas
when we're ready." I responded  "Phase two." "Max baits Vecna. He'll go after her, which'll put him in his trance." Steve said. "Phase three?" "Me and Eddie draw the bats away." Dustin said as Eddie put a hand on his head  "Four." "We head into Vecna's newly bat-free lair, and...flambé." Robin said.

What they didn't know was that phase four would be different. "Nobody moves on to the next phase until we've all copied. Nobody deviates from the plan, no matter what. Got it?" Nancy instructed.

"Got it." We responded.

We headed into the trailer.  "Be careful." Dustin said to Steve, "Thanks, buddy." He responded before climbing the rope. "Here goes nothing."

Steve did a backflip and landed in the upside down before looking up at us. "What does he want us to do, applaud?" Robin asked, looking over to me.

"All right. Let's go." Steve said after placing down a mattress. Robin gave me a boost, I climbed through and landed on the mattress. Steve put out his hand. "Gotcha." Steve said as he pulled me up, our faces were inches away, I stared into his eyes for a few seconds before Nancy landed on the mattress.

We helped everyone up and picked up our gear before walking out of the trailer.

"Hey, guys, listen. If things here start to go south, I mean, at all, you abort. Okay? Draw the attention of the bats. Keep 'em busy for a minute or two. We'll take care of Vecna. Don't try to be cute or be a hero or something. Okay? You guys are just..." Steve gave his speech. "Decoys. Don't worry. You can be the hero, Steve." Dustin confirmed. "Absolutely. I mean, look at us. We are not heroes." Eddie stated. Steve nodded and began to walk away.

"Hey, Y/n?" Eddie called me. I walked back while Steve, Nancy and Robin slowly walked on. "Make him pay." He said, I hugged him. "I will." I said pulling away. I put my hands on his shoulders and muttered something under my breath. "What was that?" Dustin asked. "Not important." I said running towards Steve.

We had been walking in silence for a while before Robin spoke up. "Uh...I don't mean to freak anyone out, but I swear we've seen this tree before." Robin mentioned. "That's impossible." Nancy said. "That would suck, right?" Robin responded "If Vecna destroyed the world because... 'cause we got lost in the woods?" She added. "We're not lost, Robin." Nancy responded, Robin began to run. "Robin, hey!" Nancy said running after her.

"Watch out for the vines! Hive mind. Remember?" I yelled walking next to  Steve. "Thank you!" Robin yelled back. "Uh, Don't worry about her. She's just stressed. You know, scared." Steve spoke up. "Yeah. Yeah. I... I know. It's just..." "She's a super klutz?" Steve asked. I chuckled at his response. "She did tell me that it took her
longer to walk than most babies, so..." I heard him chuckle. "I really shouldn't laugh. When I was a baby, I actually crawled backwards." He told me. "Crawled backwards?" I asked confused. "You know, I'd push with my hands like this. Beep. Beep." He said putting his hands up in front of him. "Always in reverse, you know? Come on, it makes sense. You push to move, right?" He looked at me. "No, no, it doesn't make sense." I said with a giggle. "Well, it did to my tiny little Harrington brain." He explained. "That is, until I reversed
my baby butt down a flight of stairs and thumped my head really good." He mentioned.

"Wow. That explains...so much." I said. "Yeah. I think it kinda does. I think, like, right out of the gate, like, I'm super confident. But I'm also, like, an idiot. Which is just...I mean, it's a brutal combination. But, I mean, the good news is, I get a big enough thump on my head, I can change, you know? I can learn. I can crawl forward." He ranted.
