Art Project Chap.17

A few days later....

recently you'd gotten a new assignment In your art class, and the assignment was that you had to paint a picture of something that captured the essence of "Uniqueness" but there were many things like that, at first you thought to paint a picture of a rose bush or perhaps a sunset but then you came upon a great Idea, you asked Malleus if he'd be your model for the painting as there wasn't a rule against having a person be In the picture, though a little nervous to ask you did and he obliged though with shock about your choosing him for this, but you explained that there wasn't anyone else you knew to be unique like him and that was for many reasons 

and so after classes ended for the day you went with your art supplies to Diasomnia, and when Lilia learned of this he was delighted with this opportunity for Malleus despite him being used to portraits, upon arriving at Diasomnia you were welcomed by Sebek

"Welcome hum- I mean Princess (Y/n) please come In!"

you smiled with a nod, "Nice to see you Sebek"

"Lord Malleus is waiting for you in his quarters I will take you there!"

you nodded following Sebek inside, and he led you through the lounge area where Lilia sat playing a game of cards with Silver which you thought was sweet, Sebek led you along as you headed down through the hallways and to where the rooms were 

"That grand door there," he pointed out

"Thank you"

you continued on to the door before knocking on it, just as you heard Malleus's voice on the other side just as you the door opened and you came face to face with him

Malleus's emerald eyes widened a bit before they softened, "you're here"

you smiled, "mhm,"

he then opened the door wider, "Come In"

you followed him inside as a spying Sebek was mumbling under his breath about this, and once Inside his bedroom you looked all around finding it to be charming 

"a dragon grotesque, It's lovely"

Malleus smiled, "Oh this? It was gifted to me by my grandmother"

you put down your easel before unfolding the legs, then putting the blank canvas up onto it as you started setting up your paints that you'd need, and Malleus magically brought a chair to sit in not too far away as you needed him close for this

"Is there any pose you'd like me to strike" he asked

you shook your head, "Not In particular but If you could look towards the window"

Malleus nodded before he looked towards the window, sitting still as you started sketching with your pencil looking to him as you drew out his outline first of all, 

Malleus then started, "Apologies, I know I shouldn't speak right now but I had something to ask you"

"Yes?"

"You said you chose me for this because of my Uniqueness, but why Is that?"

you giggled a bit, "Well It's a little hard to explain but I'll try..."

"As an Individual Malleus you're very Unique but It's not just about your Dragon Fae heritage, there's more to it than that along with your Royal roots, you're kind hearted and understanding of many things, you're passionate about your interests and you get a happy glint in your eyes when you talk about them, In your eyes that are wiser than my own you've probably seen many things In this world that I haven't after all I'm only a human, and when speaking of your past with Lilia It shows how much you love and respect him as your father too...sometimes you can be hard to understand but your intentions are always good and other people fear you but there's nothing to fear at all, you're you Malleus and that's beautiful...that's Unique"

just then you felt your cheeks warm up and you could feel your heartbeat in your throat, just as your eyes met Malleus's and he was looking straight into your eyes, and his cheeks blazed

"You..."

a warm smile came to his face, "You truly Understand me"

 you returned the smile but then bashfully looked back to the canvas as you continued drawing him, you were now drawing his facial features, "I...I do"

Malleus felt his chest become warm and he brought a hand up to it, all the while he glanced over to you every now and again as he continued posing for you, Malleus asked Lilia the other day about the new feelings he'd experienced lately and Instead of giving a clear answer he kept beating around the bush, which frustrated Malleus to no end but he kept quiet 

but In his heart Malleus knew these new feelings started because of you, but why? he still didn't know and It became something he pondered on time after time. you finished sketching out Malleus but you added the details to his horns, and after that you started to paint his hair first using a midnight black shade of paint, 

you started, "Malleus, If you're feeling uncomfortable you can tell me so we can break"

"Oh I'm fine, thank you for asking though"

you nodded In response before continuing as you admired him for a second, 

"I know we can be creative with this project, I hope you don't mind If I take some artistic liberties"

Malleus's lips curved, "Not at all, I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with"

you decided to leave that part for last, but for now you continued painting his hair, and when finished you added In white to replicate the shine from light, before you moved on painting his skin and when you finished you decided It would be good to take a break there

"Let's take a break" you said

Malleus agreed and he called for Sebek who came running, "Sebek would you bring some tea"

"Right away my lord!"

Malleus went to have a peek at what you had so far, "Wow...this is amazing"

you giggled, "It's not nearly done yet"

"I know but this is a great start"

Malleus stood back up straight and walked up to you, "you're very talented (Y/n)"

"Not really...I can't compare to Lizzie she's an expert In everything"

Malleus touched your cheek, "I'm not talking about her...I'm speaking of you"

you felt your cheeks become warm, his emerald eyes gleamed while you felt yourself getting lost in them as you'd been doing as of late which you didn't know why, but then Malleus retracted his hand as he heard Sebek start coming into his bedroom and you soon enjoyed some tea together as you started talking about family functions.
