A Picnic Chap.28

The Next Day....

It was at noon, you were in the kitchen as you were finishing up the dessert you'd made for your picnic with Malleus, with Trey's help earlier you were able to make a crepe cake. It turned out beautifully though did require lots of strawberries and whipped cream with many layers, but that was the process and with his help you completed It in time so It could chill a while

"Thank you so much for the help Trey"

Trey smiled, "no problem, after all you've helped me a lot In the kitchen It's time I paid you back"

you went to go check for the tea leaves which were sent from your mother, you wanted Malleus to try a taste of your home so you were glad when the tea arrived just In time. now that the cake was chilling you started to prepare some sandwiches that weren't too big, you prepared the bread and spread some mustard onto the slices, then putting on some tomato and lettuce followed by some sliced turkey meat with a little sprinkle of dill. satisfied with your creations you then wrapped them up before tucking them into the basket, 

"Those look good, well I'm heading off now I hope you have a good time"

you smiled and waved to Trey, "Thank you"

he left the kitchen as you then started to brew some of the rose tea, and when it was finished you put it into a thermos as you then put it into the basket with some cups, now with all your things ready you went to clean yourself up and refresh your appearance a little bit 

afterwards you went outside with the basket and blanket, laying the blanket out onto the grass in the rose maze as you set the basket down now waiting for Malleus to come

just as you heard a sparkling sound and you turned to see Malleus, a smile blooming on your face as you stood up to go to him as he opened his arms to you. you hugged him as he enveloped you within his arm's while pressing a few gentle kisses to your scalp

"I hope I'm not late"

you shook your head, "Not at all you're just on time Darling"

Malleus smiled as he looked at the setting, "Is that the surprise? It's lovely"

you got on your tip toes as he brought you into a kiss, and you kissed him back until you parted with smiles on your faces then guiding him over by the hand as to sat down, smoothing your skirts underneath you as you sat on the blanket with Malleus coming to join

you unpacked the thermos and teacups, you then poured some into his cup before handing it to him as he then got a smell of the fragrant aroma, "Rose Tea"

you smiled, "Mhm It's a staple back home, my mother sent me some"

Malleus blew on it before having a sip, his lips curved "Fragrant and delicious"

he took In a deep breath just as you poured a cup for yourself, 

"You know My Rose, I've been thinking...one day soon I'd like you to come with me to Brair Valley"

you turned, "Oh,"

Malleus started, "I'd like to present you to my Grandmother and properly make It known that you are my lady"

you smiled, "I understand, I'll come with you but...when would that be?"

Malleus thought, "Hm...perhaps during Holiday Break you can come with me then, but what do you say I hope I'm not making you feel pressured"

you set down your teacup, "Not at all, I'd love to go with you"

Malleus smiled, "I'm glad"

you unpacked the sandwiches as you handed one to Malleus, and he took a bite of his 

"I haven't had something this tasty In a while, It's really good" he said

you giggled, "Thank you"

just as you started to take a bite of your sandwich you paused, "Darling...."

"Hm?"

you looked to him, "Lizzie and I...our birthday is coming up soon"

Malleus wiped his mouth with a cloth napkin, "Ah I see,"

"Dorm Head's going to throw a birthday party for us, but...I don't know If Lizzie will come"

Malleus noticed your downcast eyes, he then scooted closer to give you a touch on the cheek

"I know your concerns, your relationship is very strained right now but she's your twin why couldn't she come, It'll be her birthday too after all"

you sighed, "yes but...I want us to celebrate happily, instead of...well...being faced with her hatred of me"

Malleus started thinking of how he could help, "My Rose, After our Picnic I'll have a word with her as to help you both rekindle your sisterhood, I promised I would after all"

you looked up at him, you then hugged him "Thank you"

Malleus rubbed your back and kissed your forehead "Of course, I hate seeing My Rose sad especially after you went to all the trouble of planning this picnic for us"

he nuzzled your cheek with his nose, you giggled in return before you started eating now feeling better. After you and Malleus finished your little lunch you soon enjoyed the crepe cake

Upon having his first bite, Malleus's emerald eye's shone "It's so thin...but It's flavor's are amazing, I can feel it melt In my mouth"

you smiled, "Trey helped me make It so the credit isn't entirely mine, I wanted to try something different"

"Even so I've tried your baking before my love, It's quite fantastic" he said

you had a bite of yours just as you thought It did melt In your mouth, just as Malleus reached out to wipe some cream from your lips which made you blush a little bit

Malleus then licked it from his thumb, "Sweet...just as you are"

you blushed, "Malleus...."

he chuckled, "I am only joking My Love"

you then started laughing a little before continuing to eat the cake, all the while Malleus told you what the courts of Brair Valley were like but mostly his Grandmother's court, and after your stomach's were full you walked through the Heartslabyul grounds together hand In hand.
