The three were not far from each other for the rest of the day. Luke, in particular, was incredibly close to Kayleb, where he was safe since he was still pretty shaken up.

It got to the point where all three fell asleep together on the spacious sofa in the living room, all snuggled up. Ian returned from the North Pack packhouse late that night to find this peculiar scene in the dark living room: his brother cuddling with Luke - his first pack member - and, for some reason, also with James, the Alpha of another pack.

Despite his confusion, he wrapped a blanket over their bodies, although it wasn't necessary since all three had the advantage of never being cold. Thanks to their animal side. Which usually made blankets ineffective. Still, his brother loves it hot, especially when showering, which almost left Ian with burn scars once.

It wasn't long after the blanket was placed over their bodies that Kayleb suddenly opened his eyes, surprising his younger brother, who was staring at him somewhat sheepishly. "I hope you had fun with my soulmate's pack."

Kayleb's voice wasn't laced with venom as his brother would've thought.

"We should talk about it, but it's really late, so you should go to bed. We'll go over everything tomorrow," Kayleb told him further. Immediately after saying that, the older lycan closed his eyes again and drifted back into dreamland.

Ian did as he was told, but not without becoming nervous. He likes the North Pack. Even if his brother had other ideas, he could only wait anxiously to see what his older brother was up to or wanted to know about the new people he was with.

Kayleb's stubbornness has always been a problem. The first impression he gets of a person is the only thing he remembers. He never questions it any further. But he was still his only family there, at least until their parents would come and take them home. Although, his older brother seemed to be preparing for an extended stay. And yet, he was sure they would come soon.

A few hours later, as night fell and the first rays of sunlight broke through, Kayleb was the first to wake up. He carefully freed himself from the two wolves entangled with him. Their legs were everywhere, a head on his torso and another on his biceps. When he realized they were still asleep after moving them, he laid them on the couch close to each other. It would be the only time they would do that. He was sure of that. After all, he couldn't let their bond get too close. Maybe not the only time, but the first and last time they did it that way. To not make them too dependent on him.

He didn't want to lead a pack that even had to go to the bathroom with him. But if he wasn't careful, that's exactly what he would get. It's natural to want to be close to each other after the ritual, but setting boundaries early on is paramount. After all, he's only doing this so they can build their pack bond based on a positive first experience, perhaps with a few hiccups, but still positive.

At the moment, he was just happy that Luke was okay again. That was the most important thing to him.

Aside from being the first to wake up, he was also the first to do his morning routine. He showered, brushed his teeth, changed his clothes, and all the other things. He even prepared breakfast before the next person came down the stairs. To his surprise, it was his brother. Who was usually either the first or the last to wake up.

"Are you still sleeping?" the younger lycan asked him with a suspicious undertone.

Kayleb nodded mindlessly as he prepared scrambled eggs, fruit salad, bacon, pancakes, and more. He didn't know James and Luke's usual breakfast, so he did what he could to accommodate them.

As Ian tried to get a freshly made pancake, a large hand slapped his away. With a shocked look, he gazed into his brother's deep eyes. Ian felt like he was looking into the eyes of both of his twin brothers at the same time.
