Kayleb had already had enough. James was on his case all day. The Alpha lycan just wanted to relax at home and invite some of his friends over to his place to play some games. But no. James forced him to go to this stupid festival even though he already had a soulmate.

But for some reason, James still wanted him there. Most likely to come into contact with others. Not just the ones from their school and pack, as there were two other schools and packs Kayleb had never met or visited.

Although he couldn't save himself, he could save Luke from this crazy Alpha wolf and his grabby hands that apparently put him in his best clothes.

He ended up in skin-tight pants and a button-up shirt that almost burst with every move Kayleb made. Before anyone even saw him, Kayleb knew he would punish James later. But for now, he was right with one point: he had to meet the other packs.

He also learned that the Alpha of the East Pack or Forest Pack was a young woman looking for a mate. Their pack was the smallest but apparently had extremely competent members. Even some war veterans. Even if Kayleb has no idea what war was ever fought there.

"And I'm finished!" James' voice suddenly sounds through Kayleb's bedroom.

It brought the lycan out of his head. He had sat idly, waiting for the wolf to do his thing. When his eyes focused, he was immediately horrified.

"I'm not going out like this!" Kayleb complained because he looked off.

But James' goal wasn't for his Alpha to look like he usually does, perfectly styled. But a little less covered.

"All eyes will be on you, dude! This is exactly what we need!"

Kayleb still had no idea why his friend was so insistent on the clothes he would wear. He'll have to wait to find out, as it seems. Then, no matter how many times he tried to ask James, he didn't say a single word about it.

Minutes passed, and Kayleb finally left the room, James close behind him, a smug grin on his face that he would surely lose as soon as his Alpha found the correct punishment for it.

As soon as the Alpha lycan entered the living room, a gasp caught his attention. Everyone, including his little brother, who stood beside him with his mouth wide open, wanted to comment about his clothes. Ian because he wanted to mention that he looked more like Maxie than Maxie ever did. But he swallowed his words, knowing it would irritate his brother again.

Instead, Ian remained silent and just smiled at his older brother.

Everyone complimented Kayleb, but the eldest lycan felt uncomfortable. He was afraid of moving too much and tearing his clothes. But it was already too late to change. They had to leave very soon. Suddenly, he heard his button-down shirt already slightly ripping. He glanced sideways at James, knowing he had planned it this way.

Anger was simmering beneath Kayleb's skin, but no one could see it, not even Luke, who usually could sense what was happening within him.

Just a few minutes later, everyone was ready to leave. Kayleb wanted to say goodbye to Luke at the front door because he was the only one who would stay behind. But as he turned around, the boy walked past him outside. Perplexed, he followed him with his eyes.

Luke seated wordlessly in the passenger seat of Kayleb's pickup.

"What just happened?" Kayleb wondered aloud.

Even though Kayleb was confused, he got into the pickup, closed the door behind him, and shook his head. He was unsure why Luke would go to an event like this. Especially since many of the people who had done terrible things to him with which he was still struggling with. But now he's sitting in his car and has only one goal: the lypercalus festival.
