I take a deep breath and stretch as I open my eyes to find myself back in my bed.
I look around confused cause I remember falling asleep on the couch. I guess Adam carried me to bed.
Everything feels so peaceful for once. Damn, letting out your emotions works wonders.
I head to the bathroom to freshen up and I take a moment to look at myself in the mirror.
I see a boy who is scared of what he will become, fear of meeting standers because it'll just lead to more attention but I also see happiness, the joy of being surrounded by those who actually care.
I smile at myself before going to the living room.
I relax on the couch and I look around to see that Adam is nowhere to be found.
I pull out my phone and text him about where he is. No answer, not even a seen.
You know what, I don't care, today is my day off so I'm going to take advantage of this.
I first make myself some breakfast, basically just cereal.
Then I get out cleaning supplies. Yes, I'm cleaning on my day off, perks of being raised in a Hispanic household.
I grab my headphones and put on "Sunday Crossword" by J. Maya and start with dusting.
I have a pretty good rhythm going, I got the dust cleared, surfaces cleaned, and rooms cleaned, and all I have left is to vacuum.
I started off with our individual rooms and then moved on to the kitchen and ended with the living room.
I'm facing away from the door which doesn't seem like a bad thing, it actually doesn't bring up paranoia until I feel small vibrational footsteps behind me.
I prepare myself for a quick plan of attack. I take a deep breath and turn around to conjure a sword at Adam's throat.
Pulling out my headphones I say, "Jesus Christ, don't sneak up on someone like that, that's how people get their throats slashed"
Staring at me in shock he says, "yeah, got that, sorry, I just went out for a bit"
"Another date?" I ask and he looks at me confused.
"Wow, I think I'm done dating for a while, but no, I was getting things together," he says sighing deeply.
"For a date?" I say jokingly and he groans in annoyance.
Just as he was about to say something, I hold up my finger as I pick up my phone.
"Naomi? What's going on?" I ask but I can't hear her well, she must be doing something.
"What? Jordan we need you at the Terren now," she says quickly before hanging up.
"So much for my day off," I say before going to my room to get changed.
When I come back I see Adam ready to go.
"You know you don't have to come right?" I say and he shrugs and we both go to the Terren together.
The wind is strong today but it's still warm out.
I think back to the call with Naomi, it was weird. I try to come up with a few scenarios of what could happen to be prepared.
When we walk in I see Naomi and Bruno arguing with Vera and Nick.
"What the hell is going on?" I ask as I get closer to them.
"Jordan please tell me what Nick and Vera are hiding from us," Naomi says standing tall in front of me.
Before I can open my mouth Nick says, "he doesn't have to and you don't need to know"
