When I start to feel the need to wake up I groan in pain.

Moving my body slightly causes pain. Opening my eyes I immediately see Adam's foot next to my face.

My eyes widen in horror and disgust and I move away, falling off the couch.

I guess we both passed out on the couch, I will never sleep there again.

Getting up off the ground I crack my back and head to the bathroom to freshen up.

I continue to yawn every ten minutes and carry on with my morning.

Making myself some cereal I sit back on the couch, pushing Adam's feet away, and turn on the news.

The reporters go over the events that happened yesterday and how the people of New York should unite to rebuild what was destroyed.

The news goes on saying the same thing until they mention something that makes me choke on my cereal.

"As a personal message, yesterday was an attack that divided us, spend this Christmas with loved ones, we can never know what will happen," the news reporter says and my jaw is hanging.

It's Christmas?! So then that would make yesterday Christmas eve.

Max decided to act in the war on Christmas Eve. What a dick. I guess no one was aware cause they never brought it up.

Leaning back and sinking into the couch I groan with annoyance.

"Hey what's up?" Adam says yawning.

I turn my head towards him and he looks at me with eyes wide.

"What happened, was there another attack?" He questions as he sits up.

"No, it's not that, I'm just now finding out it's Christmas Day," I say sinking further down.

"Christmas? Oh wait I remember reading about that" he says and I laugh slightly.

"I don't even know what to do, it's way too late to buy gifts," I say getting up to stop myself before I drown in my stress.

"Well if everyone was too busy trying to stay out of the line of fire then your not the only one," he says heading to the bathroom and I clap in realization.

"Your right, and if I leave now I'll be able to get stuff for everyone," I say grabbing my stuff and heading to the door.

Upon opening, I'm almost punched in the face by Vera who was going to knock.

"Oh hey, what are you guys doing here?" I ask and everyone walks in.

"We always spend Christmas together mijo, and we have your friends, ay Dios, this place needs some Christmas decorations," my mom says walking in last.

"Good thing I came prepared" she continues and pulls out multiple bags that I assume have decorations.

Looking at everyone I notice Nick isn't here.

"Hey, where's Nick?" I ask and Naomi and Vera look at each other before Naomi walks up.

As Adam comes out of the bathroom Naomi directs me to the kitchen.

"Nick is with his family, you know how important it is for him to be with his family," she says and I scoff.

"Not in his case, I don't see why he wants validation from them, they never even cared about him unless it's to their own worth, he isn't here because his family doesn't want him associating himself with me because of what happened with Adam," I say and she nods.

"We're also here because everyone isn't happy with us, saying that we've hidden a demon among them, me, Vera, Bruno, and your mom are getting hate but we don't hate Adam, even if he is a demon," she says putting a hand on my shoulder.
