Today feels different, I wouldn't say good but it doesn't feel bad either.

I woke up with more energy than I usually do. Waking up a few minutes before my alarm didn't piss me off and I did everything I needed to, from brushing my teeth to my skincare and to my outfit which is something I actually had time to prepare.

Who am I right now?

Hell, I even got time to organize a bit and make breakfast.

I set out the plates of waffles, eggs, bacon, and sausages out on the counter.

"What smells good? Wait did you make breakfast?" Adam says walking into the kitchen and immediately going for the plates.

We both grab our plates and sit at the table.

"This is so good, I am so glad that I got stuck with you," he says jokingly and I laugh.

"Why are you acting like you never had food before," I say and we continue to eat all the breakfast I made.

Adam goes ahead and washes the dishes and I look around the apartment.

"I think this place would look nicer with some plants, especially drooping plants," I say grabbing the pots I had stored.

I fill them with soil and put seeds in and hang them up near the windows.

Using magic I speed up the process of the plants where they have leaves sprouting.

"Like it but uh what's that," Adam says tapping my shoulder.

I turn around to see a calling signal and I tell Adam to get out of the way.

Once he's clear I tap on the sigil and now the visual rift takes up the entire living room.

"Thank you for finally answering Jordan," Stanley says and I hold back.

"Oh it's so good to see you too Covenant leader Stanley, and to you, Covenant Roselyn and Dean, may I ask where are the others?" I say slipping a hint of sarcasm.

"The rest are managing an assignment and the three of us are here to assign you to the one in New York as you must've heard about," Dean says with a serious tone to get everyone focused.

"We've been receiving reports of disturbances from the witches in your sector, with your expertise and power we hope you can provide some assistance and solutions to these disturbances," Roselyn says, and now they're giving me time to think.

On one hand, I really don't want to work for them but on the other, it's weird to see them care so much, and to ask me, I just have to find out what it is.

I take a deep breath and say, "fine I'll take the assignment but I have conditions"

I can see Stanley roll his eyes but Dean allows me to list them.

"The first, I'm my own boss, I don't need you guys checking in, I'll give you guys weekly reports, the second, I'm going to need full access to anything and everything, some of that may prove useful," I say and I can tell Dean is impressed but also expected that.

Dean nods in agreement and Roselyn takes over saying, "great, you start today and guardian Matthew will be waiting to fill you in, before we go, hold out your hands"

I hesitate but go with it.

A lab coat appears in my hand, it has my name, title, and everything.

I chuckle softly and say, "thank you" and they take their leave.

Adam walks back out when the rift disappears.

"That was a lot," he says and I fall on the couch.

"I know, just another thing to add, at this point I'm used to it," I say and he sits next to me checking out the lab coat.
