31: Get Out While You Can

Waking up I immediately run to the bathroom and throw up in the toilet.

It really is sickening to know that today is the day that everything will be destroyed.

Flushing the toilet and brushing my teeth, I open the windows to get some air.

It makes me feel a little better but I still feel sluggish and nauseous. 

"You don't look so good, want me to get you something?" Adam asks as I stand in front of the open window.

"No I'm good I just felt sick from the vision, I'm fine, now you don't look so good," I say making some water and grabbing a small snack.

"I know you feel like this is all on you but you can take a step back you know and yeah I plan to rest a little bit more before going out and helping," he says cautiously as I finish my snacks.

"I'm the only one who knows how this will turn out," I say walking to my room and getting changed.

Coming back I catch him before he goes back to his room.

"Hey let me know if anything happens, I'll see you later," I say before leaving.

Before closing the door he quickly says, "stay safe" and I head out and make my way to the Terren.

Crossing the street it felt like everything was silent, I was stuck with my own thoughts.

Soon the streets would be destroyed and I know I can't keep everyone safe but I can at least try.

Picking up my speed I make it to the Terren and head up to meet with the others.

I can hear arguing when I get close and when I step through the door everyone stops and looks.

"I've gathered all the witches, I suggest you talk to them soon, they're getting anxious" Roselyn says breaking the silence.

"I'll head down there now, I need you guys to start preparing for evacuation, we need to clear the streets the best we can before this starts" I command and they look at me surprised before doing what I asked.

Walking out to talk to the witches my mom catches me in the hallways.

"Mijo there you are, oh look at you, look how you've grown," she says and I look at her confused.

If she means going through trauma is growing then yeah I have.

Not saying anything back I continue my way to talk to everyone.

Walking up to the stage, all the chatter stops and they turn towards me.

"You're probably confused as to why I'm here and with what's going on but all you need to know right now is that we're implementing an evacuation protocol for all of New York for an apocalyptic event" I announce and the whispers start.

I open my mouth to explain but I start looking around confused as I hear footsteps marching.

As it gets louder I look at the hallway to my left and see lines of kids no older than sixteen marching in combat suits.

Hopping off the stage I run in front of the marching leader and say," what's the meaning of this, where are you taking them?"

The leader looks me up and down and then straight forward as she says, "I have orders from the Covenant that these kids are more than ready to fight against this event"

Pushing me aside they continue marching.

As the kids march by I can tell that there under a spell but just seeing them makes me want to cry.
