"You going to stop or are you going to continue going crazy" Adam says trying to make me stop pacing.
"I just don't get it, from the encounters throughout time, shades have never been able to possess, attack sure but never inhabit a person, it just doesn't make sense," I say wracking my brain over the shade from yesterday.
It really is an anomaly with this one. Shades are like ghosts, they can phase through anything which is why it's so hard to eliminate them until yesterday that is.
They've also resorted to more poltergeist actions than actual possession and breaking through a barrier casted by two unified ones, now that raises concern I'll admit.
"How long does a tracking sample take!" I yell while looking at the time.
"Okay, you know what, maybe we should go out, help speed up time," Adam says grabbing my shoulders.
I take a deep breath and nod in agreement.
Once we get outside, Adam struggles to pick a place for us to hang out at.
"Why don't we just walk around Central Park? The wind is just right" I say and he agrees and we head over.
On our way there I try to calm myself and slow down my thoughts since that's why we're doing this.
Once we enter the park, Adam struggles to pick a route.
After a few minutes of indecisiveness, we finally start walking down a path.
"Is this helping?" He asks and I take a moment before answering.
"Yeah a little, I mean it's in the back of my head but not my main focus now," I say looking around at the trees and people.
"If you have a question just say it, I can feel you staring," I say staring forward.
From the corner of my eye, I can see he looked away in embarrassment.
"I just want to know why you care so much about this shade," he says with care.
"It's not the shade itself I'm focused on but the population of them, if more like that one appears then it can be a disaster," I say facing him.
"And I don't want to put more people in danger," I say looking back at the floor as we walk.
He stops us in our tracks and says, "why would you put people in danger? You haven't even done that"
I scoff and continue walking as I say, "the Covenant would argue otherwise, I think their more afraid of me than anything else because I'm stronger so they place more on my plate cause they think I can handle it but in truth, I can only take so much like anyone else"
Wow I'm really opening up to him, haven't done that in a while, it's refreshing.
We continue to walk a little more in silence before Adam speaks up saying, "Jordan I have something to tell you"
"That sounds a little ominous, what is it?" I say confused and looking at him.
As he was about to say whatever he wanted to say he stopped when we hear my phone ring. A call from Vera.
Answering the call I put it on speaker so Adam can hear.
"You're on speaker, what's going on?" I say and it takes her a while to respond.
"Sorry about that, Jordan we located the shade, meet us at the Terren to get ready," she says before hanging up.
Well, at least we did pass the time.
We start making our way to the Terren and on our way there I say, "so what was it that you were going to say?"
I can tell he thought I forgot about it when he says, "oh what, oh it was nothing important"
