Waking up slowly I notice that Nick isn't with me. Sitting up in the silent room I can feel that my eyes are puffy from the crying I did last night.
Shifting my body to the side of the bed I groan in pain.
I walk over to my mirror and look at my cuts and bruises. I never placed a recovery spell last night.
Putting my hand on one of the bandaged wounds I start to get confused.
Why can't I use my magic? I concentrate harder to activate a healing spell but nothing. My aura shines for a second but disappears instantly.
I must still be exhausted from using all my energy yesterday. Figures, I didn't really hold back.
Walking over to the bathroom to brush my teeth I hear sizzling sounds.
Finishing freshening up I check on the noise.
It's Nick cooking in the kitchen.
"Oh your finally awake, I'm almost done," he says flipping pancakes and bacon.
Thinking this is a fever dream I say, "what are you...what are you doing?"
He looks at me confused and my vision starts to become blurry.
Soon I start to lose my balance and I black out before feeling the pain of falling to the floor.
"Why would you let him go out there, you know how he can get" I hear while regaining consciousness.
Finding myself on the couch I see Nick and Rorie yelling at each other.
"What happened?" I ask and they quickly revert their attention to me.
"You fainted, so I called Rorie 'cause I figured you wouldn't want to worry the others," Nick says and I sit up.
"You're reaching a fine line of self-destruction, you need to slow down, if you break down how does that help Adam," Rorie says sitting on the opposite end.
Rubbing my face I say, "it's not like I'm trying to do this to myself, I can't even use my magic right now, I guess I'm still exhausted and now dehydrated"
Rorie looks at Nick and he goes and gets water.
"I'm worried about you, I know you want to find Adam, we all do but you can't lose yourself in the process, got that?" they say giving a warm smile.
When Nick comes back he hands me a cup of water and he and Rorie exchange dirty looks.
They never really got along, even before they would go at each other's throats.
"I've got to get going, Jordan eat something and drink water, no powerful magic okay? Nick, make sure he doesn't hurt himself" Rorie says before leaving.
I sigh deeply and head to the kitchen.
Taking a seat at the island, Nick immediately hands me a plate of the breakfast he made.
"Thanks," I say and he smiles.
As he heads to the living room I feast on the food in front of me.
Washing the plate when I finish eating I walk up to Nick.
"Do you think you can help me with something?" I ask and he looks up.
"Sense I can't use my magic right now, I was wondering if you could heal my wounds" I go on and he nods.
Going to the bathroom I remove my shirt and there's an awkward silence.
Looking at him through the mirror I say jokingly, "you've seen me without my shirt before, no need to get shy"
