"It's missing something," I say analyzing the layout of the apartment.

"Your right but what do we put," Adam says giving up on the decor.

"It's Halloween and we don't even have any decorations set up, it's the best time of the year," I say with excitement.

I always look forward to Halloween, there are so many great things about it.

The costumes get better every year and I love the haunted houses, even though they're not scary they're still fun to experience.

Adam chuckles and says, "do you even have decorations to put up"

"I do actually," I say walking to the closet and pulling out a large box.

"My mom loves decorating for anything, seasons and holidays so we have her to thank for this," I say and smile at Adam who laughs.

"Alright then, what should we start with," he says walking over and helping me take out the decorations from the boxes.

We spend over an hour putting up decorations.

We covered the apartment, top to bottom, with the decorations and I'm quite satisfied with how it looks.

I did yell at Adam halfway through because he pulled out a fake spider and I'm absolutely afraid of them, it actually might be a phobia.

Sitting on the couch from exhaustion, Adam says, "so what exactly is Halloween?"

"Depending on who you are it has a different meaning but it's mainly a time of the year when people dress up as what or whoever they want and get candy out of it" I explain and he smiles.

"We have something like this back at home," he says and goes on to say what it's called on his tongue.

Yeah, I don't even know what he just said but good for him.

"Is that why you enjoy it?" He asks and I can't contain my excitement.

"That's part of it but the haunted houses and horror movies are my favorite," I say and he looks at me confused.

"Don't worry, you'll experience both" I joke and he looks at me with worry.

Adam continues to ask more about Halloween until my phone starts vibrating.

Naomi is trying to call.

Answer the call she says, "hey what time are you planning on coming to the party?"

"I don't know, it starts at like what six thirty? So maybe seven" I respond.

"Do you know what we should do for the kids?" She asks and I get up from the couch.

"I was about to start thinking of things, I'll send you what I have in mind," I say and I can hear voices from her side.

"Alright yeah, thanks got to go, see you later," she says before hanging up.

I breathe out and pull a notebook out of thin air.

"What's this for?" Adam asks leaning against the island.

"I was going to write down some ideas on what we can do for the kids, they were kidnapped almost a week ago and they're still stuck in that state of fear," I say pushing myself up to sit on the counter.

"But isn't Halloween about fear? Isn't that what you described it as" he says and I see his point.

"Technically yes but it doesn't have to be, that's why we're having a party at the Terren and costumes are required," I say and an idea comes to mind.
