Waking up from the sedative my eyes are still heavy but I'm trying really hard to open them.
My vision is still blurry but I can finally keep my eyes open.
Blinking a few times everything becomes clear.
I was really hoping this was all a dream, that maybe I got knocked out or perhaps I was too exhausted and was lucid dreaming again but no, nothing I want ever happens.
I guess the sedative is still wearing off because I can't move my body besides my head.
It's even difficult to move my fingers or toes. What dosage did they give me, Christ.
After a few failed attempts I can finally move my fingers.
I slowly regain movement and feeling throughout my body and attempt to get out of these restraints.
Right, when I was about to use magic Hera walks in.
"Good morning Jordan, how are we feeling?" She asks and I give a sarcastic smile in response.
"Oh I'm just fine thank you for asking, the best sleep I've had, ten out of ten, hey what do you say you let me out of these huh," I say moving my hands.
"I can't do that," she says and I give up my act.
"Why the hell not?" I ask and she inhales deeply.
Before she can respond someone else walks in. Max.
"Because you have something we need," he says scooting Hera to the side.
"And what would that be, I know it's not my amazing personality," I say jokingly and he chuckles.
"It's not don't worry but it is inside you," he says and my smile drops.
Inside me? What the fuck is he going to do, cut me open?!
I don't even know what he's talking about so I can't do anything about it.
"What are you talking about?" I ask and he looks at me questionably.
"You don't remember? That bomb we sent contained unnatural and untamed magic, opening a new world of possibilities and you absorbed it" he says getting closer.
"And it exploded and took everything with it, including your so-called magic," I say and he tilts my head up with his hands.
"But yet you carry some of it with you and I want it back, don't worry, the process should be painless," he says and Hera pulls out a tray of needles and tubes.
I breathe heavily from the sight of the tools.
"Hera will help you through it and if you will excuse me I got some business to take care of," he says walking out the door but he stops at the frame.
"Oh I almost forgot your parting gift," he says as he brings in a small round machine.
"This is infused with my magic so I wouldn't try using your magic sense it'll be pointless," he says activating it and finally leaving.
As it powers up it starts glowing and sends out a small wave of magic.
Well, he was right, I can't feel my magic anymore.
Looks like he found a way to manipulate it to completely shut down someone's magic. Impressive I'll admit but annoying nonetheless.
Hera starts setting up IV bags and a machine to collect blood.
When she picks up a needle and walks over I jolt back out of fear.
I'm not scared of needles themselves but of the sharp pain they bring and the fact that they stay in my body doesn't help.
