"So um, do you like the food?" Hans asked, in his third attempt of starting conversation.
I shrugged and picked at the squid or octopus tentacle. I seriously hated sushi , but I didn't want to tell him that. "Urm, it's good." I mumbled regretfully as I stuffed some seafood in my mouth. I winced before I forced a smile and held my thumbs up.
"H-how are you liking school so far?" He mumbled scratching the back of his neck.
"It's good. Good-good....soo good." I rambled.
I really didn't want to be on this date. Especially after Nate bashed me the way he did on the field. I knew I wasn't doing this date to betray Pj. It was a stupid backfire, she was supposed be on this date not me.
But something Nate had said irked me beyond point.
You're a whore Matey.
Whore. , I hate that word. I'm not a whore, I was just trying to do the right thing. But if Nate thinks I'm a whore, I'll give him a whore. I'll have a WHALE of time proving it to him. I thought evilly.
"Do you wanna get out of here?" I asked grinning from ear to ear. Hans furrowed his eyebrows, confused.
"Sure." He said uncertain before I dragged him out of the restaurant.
We drove in Hans car in a comfortable silence. I only spoke when I gave him directions. Remembering my first outing with Reese a couple days ago, I directed him towards a small outlook.
It was a small cliff. It showed the town below, which wasn't much to look at. It was mostly pine tree's down there. But the real beauty was in the sky. Since Palo Ville was a small town, then it was easier to see the stars.
"We're here." I smiled as I hopped out of the car. I grabbed Hans hand and led him towards the edge of the cliff. "Isn't it beautiful?"
"It's a little creepy." He admitted.
"Way to kill a mood." I mumbled, rolling my eyes. "You don't like it?" I asked.
"It's not that. It's just, it's the middle of the night, we're out in the woods....I mean you've seen slasher films right? A guy wearing a mask and carrying a butcher knife is sure to come out here and end our lives." He rattled off as I felt my eyes roll again.
I liked Hans as a friend. He was funny, witty, smart, and sweet to be around. But as a date Hans sucked, he was horrible with conversation! "Dude, don't you know anything? They never kill the virgin girl first." I rolled my eyes. "You're practically golden if you're with me."
"You're a virgin!" He blurt out before he coughed awkwardly.
"Wow don't sound so surprised." I laughed out, but really I was trying to not sound so offended. Did I really give off a 'slut' vibe?
"I didn't mean it like that." He began to ramble, except this time I was reminded of the first time we met. I smiled and stopped him.
"It's fine. So how long have you been in love with Pj?" I asked bluntly raising my eyebrow.
Hans coughed, and gaped at me wide-eyed. "W-what are you talking about? I don't like Pj, she's my best friend and-" He began to babble when I held my hand up.
"Save it. I know you've been in love with Pj, that's why I asked you out." I shrugged.
He stood up, and I could feel the anger radiating off of him. "YOU KNEW AND YOU ASKED ME OUT!" He yelled, "Why the hell would you do that!"
I stood up and tried to calm him down, "Hans, I'm not some whore. I was planning on Pj stopping me...but that backfired." I mumbled rubbing the back of my neck. "You have to understand, I never wanted to go on a date with you."
