"We won!" I cried out victoriously, thrusting the dance trophy in the air. "We are the champions my friends! WE WON'T STOP FIGHTING TILL THE END!" I sang horribly off key into a random guys face as he escorted a younger girl out, who was crying.
"Stop waving that trophy around, you're going to stab someone in the eye!" Lacy growled, snatching the trophy out of my hand. I shrugged and couldn't swipe the goofy grin off my face.
"Lace, grow a heart and celebrate! We won, we can shove this trophy so far up the judges asses, they'll regret deducting those two points off my solo." I mused, forming amazing ideas. Without hesitation I grabbed the trophy back and made a move to initiate my latest plan.
"Not so fast!" Lacy said, pulling on my ponytail like a horse. "You deserved that deduction. Your dance moves were against the code of conduct. What the hell were you thinking when you decided to crump and twerk?" she raised her eyebrow.
"I was thinking that the song I was dancing to was my jam and it deserved the rightful twerk." I scoffed, rolling my eyes.
"Refrain from jamming out too hard during competition. We still have to get to state then nationals and we can't afford your shit, princess." She said firmly. I nodded and only half listened to her, because all I heard was-
Matey you are the shining star of the group. You will take us to state-then nationals. You're a goddess and the world is your oyster!
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what she meant.
Before Lacy could lecture me further, I was swiftly lifted off the ground. I yelped in surprise but quickly met Ezra's excited gaze. "You did it kid, you were great out there."
"Did you ever doubt me?" I teased him as Ezra set me down to ruffle my hair. I didn't mind so much this time because I was on a winning high. "Free round of beer on me!" I cried out, garnering the attention of a handful of parents as they scurried their children away from me.
"Funny sweetie." Dad replied dryly before he cracked a proud grin and swept me off my feet too. Apparently winning to these people, meant that my feet never had to touch the ground.
Sweet!
"Where's that trophy, i'm gonna shove it so far up the judges asses-" Mom growled angrily, shoving people out of her way. Tara however, was hot on moms heals and reeled her back with a panicked expression.
"Whoa down girl!" Tara said, calming mom down. Mom nodded as if considering Tara's words but quickly wriggled her way out of her grip and made a move for the trophy.
"Their ass is grass!" Mom cried out in a warrior cry, diving for the trophy.
"I have your back, baby!" Ezra shouted, shoving me out of the way when I tried to block him. I growled and lunged for his back, tackling him down.
"Stay away from my mom before I deport you!" I snapped, pulling onto Ezra's hair. He cried out in pain, and signaled his old band mates to help him. Next thing I knew, I was being pried off by two of them. Then Dad and Reese had to restrain mom, while Tara and one of the boys had to pin down Ezra from groping my mom.
"This is why we can't go anywhere nice!" Reese hissed, grappling my mom from attacking anyone. "Ms.Greer, please stop jabbing me in the ribs!"
"I'm cool, i'm fine." Mom huffed, shoving dad and Reese off of her. "I'm just so happy my baby won her rightful place." Mom sighed, fixing her hair before she stretched her arms out to me.
I would have hugged her, believe me. But Parker and Gage were holding me back. "You can let me go, I won't hurt your Gaylord." I promised.
"Should we let her go?" Parker asked my dad who was standing by, watching me skeptically.
