"Hey kiddo, can we talk?" Dad asked peering into my room.
I sighed loudly and motioned him in. I felt a little bit like the godfather. My glasses were perched on my nose, and I sat at my desk with my hands folded in front of me. All I needed was a fluffy white cat, but my damn allergies won't allow it.
"Urr why are you wearing glasses kiddo?" He asked slowly walking in.
Shrugging I said, "They make me feel smarter."
"What?"
"Nevermind." I snapped, he wouldn't understand, "You came here for a reason. So go on speak." I motioned him with my hand.
"First of all, i'm your father speak to me with respect." He huffed, "Second, I came to talk to you about the dance team."
This intrigued me, "Go on." I drawled.
"Well your brother told me about tryouts."
"He's not my brother." I mumbled, "And what of it? I already missed tryouts."
"Well i'm sorry for that." He smiled apologetically, "if I knew there were tryouts I would have let you stay."
"Well you didn't." I rolled my eyes, "Are you done reminding me I'll never dance again!" I cried out dramatically.
"Stop with all the theatrics." He rolled his eyes, "I'm sure there's something we can do."
"Like what? Bribe the PTA moms and secure myself a spot on the team?" I asked sarcastically.
Dad mused for a second and smiled impishly, "Well..."
"No dad!" I scowled, "Listen, I think i'll be fine without the dance team." I sighed in defeat.
Dad touched my cheek, the way he used to when I was little. It was warm and inviting, but I had to remember he was the enemy now. I pushed his hand away, and ignored the look of hurt on his face.
"I'm sorry kiddo." He mumbled before kissing my temple and leaving.
Why does he care if I make the team or not? It's not like he cares. Maybe it's his guilt that's playing on him. Well I have news for him, I don't want his dumb pity!
I didn't need it when he left me for the 'Steps' and I don't need it now. He left me behind and didn't think twice, so why does he care now?

They're like it's better than yours
I can teach you but I have to charge.
I groaned and flipped over in bed. Only one person has that ringtone. What time is it over there and why isn't she asleep? I know I want to be!
"Mom?"
"Hey sweetie, did I wake you up?" she asked.
I rolled my eyes, "What do you think?" I all but snapped, "Why are you calling me, do you know what time it is?"
I heard some ruffling in the background, "Umm it's ten o'clock in the morning. Why what time is it over there?"
"Four in the...wait, Peru is only one hour ahead of the states." I said more to myself, "Mom where are you?"
