I spun the chair around and watched as Laurel looked at herself. She didn't give anything away as she inspected the loose waves I made. Or the light make up to keep her natural beauty.

Finally, she shrugged as if she couldn't care less.

"It's alright...but I'd much rather be in sweats right now." she said bluntly. I stared at her flatly, not impressed with her lack of manners.

"A simple thank you would have sufficed. I see you left your manners in the Amazon forest, you savage." I pouted, drained out from a long grueling makeup session.

"I don't see why I had to go full out drag-" she literally only had nude based makeup- "for a simple group dinner." she rolled her eyes.

"Because it's always nice to present yourself. Listen, I would love to go out and look like a slob. But I don't, because I want to present myself as a person who puts effort. It's all very psychological." I explained to her patiently. But grouchy mcgrouchy pants, wasn't having it.

"Oh care to explain, airhead?" she retorted sardonically.

"First of all, airhead - really Laurel? At least come up with an original comeback. I feel like I put in all the effort in our relationship." I shook my head, disappointed. "Secondly, it does come down to psychology. You dress how you want to represent yourself. For example you dress like a lesbian biker-why? Because you want to scare people off. You don't open yourself up enough. I dress like-"

"You just tasted the rainbow?" Laurel snorted. I stared at her flatly, but nonetheless agreed.

"Sure. I dress like that because I'm naturally a happy person. I love color because it stands out in the bleakness of life. I welcome new people for the most part. Though I will admit I can be skeptical of people, but I try to keep an open mind." I justify for myself.

"But who am I trying to open myself up to? You are the only friend I need." Laurel mumbled embarrassingly, averting her eyes away from me. The urge to coo was strong, but I refrained because I didn't want her to feel any shame.

"I don't know, who would you try to let in? Reese is a goofball, Ezra is the male version of me, and you already said Hans doesn't irritate you." I shrugged, "Who are you willing to let in?"

Laurel didn't have to say anything. We both knew she let someone in. Someone she trusted more than even myself.

Since Hans didn't want Laurel to know it was a fake date, I ended up driving Laurel to the restaurant. Both Reese and Ezra agreed to meet us there.

"Get off the road you old hag!" I screamed out of the window, making good use of the horn.

Beside me, Laurel was spitting out a string of curse words. "Are you fucking crazy?!?! I can't believe I let you drive again! If I die, I can only blame myself." Laurel cried out clutching the seatbelt securely around her.

I giggled and waved her off. Some people are so dramatic. My driving was not that bad.

"Yo lady, I said off the road! I've got places to be and people to see!" I screamed once again out of my window. The old hag in front of us was deliberately driving slow.

"She is going the speed limit!" Laurel yelled out angrily. I scoffed and pressed the gas as I moved around her.

"It's a friendly suggestion, you don't actually have to go twenty." I rolled my eyes and I sped even faster to get pass the hag.

In less than five minutes, I drove into the parking lot. I parked and jumped out of the car with a victorious smile. Laurel got out of the car and dove to kiss the ground.
