"I know this is a hostage situation. But can we please have a different driver!" Nate cried out hysterically from the backseat.

"I agree!" Reese cried out holding onto Nate for dear life. "Dude I have to confess something because I know we won't survive our last ride!" he sobbed on Nate.

"What is it bro?" Nate cried out too. Reese sniffled and looked guilty.

"I'm the one who told the football team that you took ballet lessons as a kid! I thought it was funny at the time, I didn't know they were going to call you twinkle toes for a year." Reese confessed apologetically. I caught Nate's eye in the rearview mirror as he blushed.

"Shut up!" Nate hissed.

"I don't know why you all are panicking? She's driving just fine." Ezra waved them off reclining in his seat comfortably.

"Are you kidding me? I think I just saw heaven's light!" Reese argued.

"She's doing fine. She's on a road, she has her seatbelt on. Matey's driving responsibly." Ezra defended me like a true best friend.

"She's going twenty over the speed limit!" Nate retorted angrily. Obviously he's not a big fan of Ezra.

"It's merely a suggestion. It's not illegal." Ezra shrugged pulling out his phone and scrolling through his tumblr feed.

"Is he serious?" Nate asked Reese who looked ready to pass out. Reese nodded weakly before rolling down his window to vomit. We all grimaced and covered our noses.

"Dear Ghandi Reese! You couldn't warn us?" I asked covering my nose from the foul stench.

"Both hands on the wheel!" Nate and Reese cried out frantically when they saw my hands were nowhere near the steering wheel.

"You guys, no hands is the best way to drive." Ezra butted in. "I have an idea! How about I cover your eyes and direct you. It's the ultimate trust exercise."

"Hell yeah-"

"No!" Nate and Reese snapped angrily.

"Buzz kills." I grumbled taking the wheel again. And in my defence, we were driving on an empty back road so speed limits were totally obsolete.

"Where are you taking me? I don't think I can handle any more of the ride from hell." Nate complained wiggling in the ropes that binded him.

"Just a couple more minutes." I said growing nervous as we came closer to the creek.

Scheming and planning was fine. Using sarcasm and my sharp tongue was fine. Being difficult in general was fine.

But sharing my feelings wasn't. Being open and honest wasn't. And becoming vulnerable was never going to be fine to me.

I'd rather take over the world with a pug named pugsley than talk to Nate. I'd rather sit in a room with Sadie and hear her talk about the difference between lip gloss and lipstick in a lengthy well thought out discussion. I'd rather break my ankle and ruin my dance career than talk about my feelings.

But this was with Nate. And he had become important to me. My head and my heart still haven't had the talk but I didn't need for them argue whether I cared for him. Because hands down, I did.

Maybe that's what scared me the most.

Nate flexed his arms to get rid of the weariness of being bound against your will. His brown eyes looked around the room skeptically. I know he was waiting for the big bang. The last step in my scheme.

But there wasn't. It was just me and him.

No gags.

No gimics.
