"What's that I hear? A person calling my name and asking for my exit?" Hans cut in before he dashed away in an awkward wobble.
I narrowed my eyes as he disappeared. I turned back to Nate who hadn't taken his eyes off me. "So...."
"Yeah?" he raised his eyebrow in anticipation.
"I should get going. I can't miss another day of physical education....it's very, um educational." I muttered awkwardly, rubbing my elbow nervously.
"Yeah, I'll see you later. I might drop by the house today-"
"No!" I cried out frantically. Nate frowned in confusion, but I couldn't tell him he can't come over.
It's not that I didn't want him there....well actually that was the reason. I couldn't have Nate around my mom. No man has ever been immune to the Kelly charm. My mom already had Ezra hooked, I couldn't risk Nate.
I just needed to keep him away while my mom was still in town. She lured in men unintentionally like a broken siren who's new to the job. My mother never knew how powerful her pull on men were.
"Y-you can't come because ....because...." I stuttered at a loss for any explanation. Then as if the scheming gods, gifted their favorite child. Ezra and his band mates entered the hallway. "I'm babysitting Ezra's baby cousin tonight and every night until the end of the week!" I lied on the spot.
Upon hearing his name, Ezra stopped in his tracks. He was still sporting his sun glasses, so I didn't know if he was following my lead. Parker,Gage, and Josh frowned just as confused as Nate and Ezra.
"What's going on, and how long do I have do it?" Ezra asked, waltzing towards Nate and I.
"Ezra!" I laughed nervously, wrapping my arm around him. "Hey buddy, ole pale, of mine! I was just telling Nate that he can't come over to my place because I'm babysitting your cousin."
Ezra frowned but finally let it sink in that this was another one of my schemes. His blue eyes widened in realization and didn't miss another beat as he easily agreed.
"Oh yeah, my little cousin. Thanks Matey, you're the best." he grinned. Nate raised his eyebrow, skeptically. I started to panic when Parker, stepped in.
"You have a cousin?" he asked Ezra....and cue the nervous pit sweat.
"Yeah..." Ezra chuckled nervously, "My little cousin-ugh-"
"Chewy!" I blurted out before my incompetent brain could stop me.
"Chewy?" Everyone chorused in confusion.
"Yes, Chewy Bacca." Ezra said quickly, like the loyal besy friend he is.
"You have a cousin named Chewy Bacca?" Parker narrowed his eyes. I jabbed in the ribs and glared at him.
"Yes, if you were his best friend you would have known that. But you're not, because I am." I snorted letting my rivalry with him continue.
"I know all about Chewy Bacca! I was there when the little guy was born!" Parker lied boldly, only feeding into my lie.
"Well yeah, whatever." I scoffed, "Then how come Ezra trusted him with me?"
"Because you're a girl, isn't that obvious?" he smirked. I narrowed my eyes at him and shoved him away from Ezra and I.
"Was that a sexist comment?" I snapped.
"What--no!" Parker defended himself.
"It sounded sexist mate, sorry." Ezra sighed, patting Parker's back.
