Iris
After last night, reassuring the girls that I'd be fine at the dinner, I'm now getting ready for said dinner. My phone lights up as I apply lip gloss.
Liam: "Kai wants to see you soon."
Me: "I'd love to see them! I think ice cream is in order, since you find ice cream in winter so odd."
Liam: "Fine... I suppose I'll suck it up for the happiness of my two favorite people."
I smile at the text message, giddy with love. This is disgusting, but oh well, I'm still feeling it. Marcus booked out this entire Italian restaurant for us, and it's very fancy, so I slip my deep red mini dress on with a pair on black pumps. Lining my neck with a gold necklace, and putting pearl studs in, I meet the girls in the living room.
"Damn, you look hot," Lilly says, looking at me. I flash an embarrassed smile and Violet laughs.
"Is Sarah coming tonight?" I ask.
"Yes! And Thomas will be there too, right Lilly?" Lilly nods, before Marcus leaves his room.
"My favorite ladies! You all look hot, let's go eat!" We cheer before walking to Lilly's car.
"So Marcus, what's the reason for this big dinner?" Lilly asks.
A wide grin spreads across Marcus' face, "Oh you'll see." With his ominous remark, we get in the car. After arriving at the restaurant, we see the guys all talking outside. My eyes fall on Liam. white button up, cuffed at his ripped ass forearms, with black pants. He has a simple necklace hanging from his neck, and with his neck exposed from the button up, his collarbone is accentuated. Holy fuck. I want him right now.
Getting out of the car, we walk over. There's still some tension between me and the guys, so the hellos are a little awkward. I notice Liam's eyes don't leave me. As everyone walks in, the two of us hang behind everyone. Leaning down, his mouth hangs by my ear.
"You didn't tell me you'd look this hot tonight."
"You never asked."
"And give me three good reasons why I shouldn't fuck you right here, right now?"
"I don't have any. I'd love to watch my fingers unbutton all those buttons on your shirt," I lean in his ear, it's my turn to whisper "and the ones on your pants." I walk faster, catching up with the group, leaving Liam in the dust. Marcus has put place cards for everyone to sit in specific spots, and since he knows nothing about Liam and I, our cards are next to each other. This is going to be a lot harder than we anticipated.
"Um, can I switch with Liam, Marcus?" Lilly asks. This is going to be a lot harder than we anticipated.
"Why?" Marcus furrows his brows.
"Because Iris and I are best friends, duh," Lilly scoffs.
"Place cards stay as is." I see Grayson shoot Liam a sympathetic look, Violet doing the same with me. We take our seats, Liam on my left, the end of the table on my right. The salad gets brought out, and as everyone is focused on their food, I slip my hand into Liam's. I see him let a small smile out as he talks to Archer from across the table, and I'm also trying to force myself to not look incredibly happy. I feel his thumb stroking the side of my hand, and I feel bubbly.
"So, everyone," Marcus stands up, clinking his drink glass. Liam and I retract our hands, me placing mine in my lap, folded nicely. "I'm sure you're all wondering why I ordered for this fancy dinner. There are a few announcements that need to be made tonight. First off, I'd like to thank everyone for helping Lix and I get together. You may have not done much, but you did something. So, with that." He reaches over and grabs Lix's hand. "We're moving in together." Everyone claps, but is murmuring amongst themselves. Lilly, Violet, and I all exchange a concerned look, since this doesn't just affect Lix and Marcus, but also all their roommates.
