Five years later...
Paglabas ko ng sasakyan ay saglit pa akong tumingala at nakitang medyo madilim na ang kalangitan. I came home earlier than usual because Kiare texted me to go home early.
"Ice! Ace! Papatayin ako ng mommy niyo, my goodness." I heard Kiare shouted problematically.
Here we go again.
The twins are already five years old and it's Kiare's schedule to come home early today. I harshly shook my head and massaged my temple because I know the whole house is in chaos again.
Palagi nalang ganito ang nangyayare kapag silang tatlo ang naiiwan sa bahay o si Kiare ang naka-schedule na umuwi ng maaga galing trabaho. Mukhang binagyo nanaman ang buong bahay namin nito.
Napailing nalang ako bago binuksan ang pinto at naglakad papasok. Sumalubong sa'kin ang lumilipad na laruan na papunta sa direksyon ko, kung hindi lang siguro ako marunong umiwas baka may bukol na ako ngayon.
"I'm home." I said before looking around.
I was right. Para sinalanta ng signal number four na bagyo ang buong kabahayan namin dahil sa sobrang gulo.
"Welcome home, love." Malambing na bati sa'kin ni Kiare kasama ang kambal namin na tumatakbo na palapit sa'kin.
"Mommy!" Sabay na sigaw ng dalawa.
Agad ko namang sinalubong ang yakap nila at hinalikan silang dalawa sa mag kabilang pisnge na naging dahilan ng paghagikhik nila.
"How's your day, baby?" I asked them before smiling softly.
"It's fun! Mama played with us!" Tuwang-tuwa na sigaw ni Ace.
"It was fine, mom." Malumanay na sagot naman ni Ice.
"Kumain na ba kayo?" I asked Kiare who's smiling while watching us.
"Not yet, we're waiting for you."
"Why does the whole house looks like it was ravaged by a strong typhoon, Guillermo?" I asked, furrowing my brows.
"Ano kasi, love..." There was a hint of nervousness in her voice so I just shook my head.
She acted like a kid again and played with our daughters.
"Let's eat, lilinisin mo pa ang buong bahay pakatapos." Seryosong sabi ko na ikinalaglag ng panga niya.
Hindi parin nagbabago isip bata parin talaga siya, jusmiyo.
"Mommy, Mama!" Rinig naming tawag ng dalawang paslit.
"Why, baby?" Malambing na tanong ni Kiare sa dalawa bago yumukod para pantayan ang kambal.
I smiled, she's really a softie when it comes to me and our babies.
Napansin ko na parang nagbubulungan ang tatlo kaya bahagyang kumunot ang noo ko dahil sa pagtataka. Maya-maya lang ay sabay-sabay pa silang humagikhik kaya hindi na ako naka-tiis.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"Mom, why don't you change your clothes upstairs first?" Ice asked that made me frown.
The hell?
"Let's eat first." I said.
"No!" Halos sabay-sabay pa nilang tatlo na sinabi 'yon kaya nagsalubong ang kilay ko.
They're hiding something.
"Are you hiding something?" Pinukol ko sila isa-isa ng nanunuring tingin kaya sabay-sabay silang napa-iwas.
"Love, go and change your clothes first." Nakangiting utos ni Kiare kaya napabuntong hininga nalang ako.
"Fine." Napipilitang saad ko bago naglakad papunta sa taas.
Pagdating ko sa kwarto ay agad akong pumasok sa banyo para maligo at mag-ayos ng sarili. After thirty minutes ay lumabas na ako ng kwarto para bumaba dahil baka naghihintay na ang tatlo sa dining area.
Ngunit pagbaba ko ay nagulat ako dahil sobrang dilim ng living room hanggang sa dining kaya agad na kumunot ang noo ko.
"Kiare?" I called her.
When I finally arrived at the last step of the stairs I was stunned because a smooth strumming of the guitar filled the whole living room before the light turned on. I saw my wife standing in the middle of the living room while the twins are on her side, she remembered it.
It's our fifth wedding anniversary today.
"I met you in the dark
You lit me up
You made me feel as though
I was enough

We drank too much
I held your hair back when
You were throwing up"
Kiare sang while the twins are swaying their heads with the flow and the rhythm of the song that made me smile softly.
They look so adorable.
"Then you smiled over your shoulder
For a minute I was stone-cold sober
I pulled you closer to my chest

I think that you should get some rest"
This time the twins are the one who sing the second verse of the song. Halos hindi pa nila masambit ng maayos yung lyrics kaya mahina akong natawa.

Kiare stopped strumming as soon as she finished the chorus. She slowly walked towards me with a soft smile of her lips, her ocean blue eyes is sparkling.
She's happy.
"Happy Anniversary, amore mio." She greeted me with a smile on her face.
"Happy anniversary, my love." I greeted back.
"I'll wake you up with some
Breakfast in bed
I'll bring you coffee
With a kiss on your head
And I'll take the kids to school

And I'll thank my lucky stars

My smile widened when she continued singing together with the twins.

She reached for my right hand and brought it closer to her lips and kissed it.

"Happy Anniversary, Mama and Mommy!" Sigaw ng kambal bago kami niyakap ni Kiare.
"I love you, love." She whispered to my ear.
"I love you more and our babies, always." I said softly.
She smiled and kissed me on my forehead.
"Always."
