I was laying down staring at the ceiling, listening to Bohemian Rhapsody on full volume. I was overthinking about if Max would ever want to talk to me again. I was to busy in thought and didn't notice Steve had walked in.
"What happened Lo?" Steve said as he turned down the volume.
"Aww come on Stevie, that was the best part?" I groaned sitting up.
"Sorry, but tell me what's wrong first." He said sitting down next to me.
"Nothings wrong, why'd you asked?" I said messing with my ear.
"Well, first your messing with your ear, and secondly, your blasting Bohemian Rhapsody."
"What does the song have to do with this?" I said furrowing my eyebrows.
"Everytime your sad about something you paly this song." He said.
I furrowed my eyebrows in thought, I started thinking about what he said and realized what he said was true.
"I just like the song a lot." I said scoffing.
"Mmhm sure." he said.
"Just tell me what's wrong." he continued.
"I made someone upset." I mumbled.
"Someone as in Max. AKA your crush who your deeply in love with" Steve said and I just nodded.
"What did you do?" he continued.
"Well it wasn't just me, she mad that we keep some things from her."
"Well what do you expect?" He said making me look at him with furrowed eyebrows.
"Your supposed to be comforting me." I groaned.
"I would but honestly, what'd you expect? You wanted her to be your friend but keep things from her with your other friends."
"You know, you sound exactly like her." I laughed.
"Anyways, I had to it's to dangerous for her know about some things." I ranted.
"To know about what?"
"The upside down." I said deciding not to tell him about the shadow.
"Oh" He said.
"Yep." I said popping the p.
"Well why don't you just tell her."
"Because, it's too dangerous and I don't want her getting killed. And she mostly likely won't even believe me." I said.
"Plus she most likely won't even believe me, I mean who believe anyone who said that there is a world of evil, disgusting creatures called a Demogorgon who have a petal mouth living under us. oh and it looks just like Hawkins just more corrupted." I said finishing my rant.
Steve just stayed quiet which scared me.
"So why are you just here and not telling her?" he said making me look at him dumbfounded.
"Did you not just hear anything I just said?" I snapped.
"Yeah I did, and even though it is true that it's dangerous it's safer for her to know. To be warned you know just incase some world ending event happens that's caused by these creatures at least she would be prepared you know." Steve said.
I started to think about what he said. I mean he was right in some way but still it's too dangerous.
"No." I said.
"Why"
"It's too dangerous."
Steve groaned and got up pacing around my room.
"Ok, well how are you going to fix your problem." He said stopping.
"I'm not, Lucas is." I said laying back down staring at the ceiling.
"What is wrong with you?!" Steve yelled making me jump.
"What do you mean?" I said confused.
"You send someone who likes the girl you are in love with to go and talk to her alone." He said in a duh tone.
Once everything he said sunk in I shot up from my bed.
"Holy shit! Your fucking right." I said
"I know I am. And watch your language." He scolded.
"Sorry mama Steve." I said rushing out my room and downstairs.
"Go get your girl!" Steve said as I ran out the door.

I walked up to Max's door and knocked, but no one answered. I could hear loud music playing so I knocked louder this time. And no one answered so I was banging on the door until someone banged open the door.
"What the fuck do you want!" The same boy from earlier today said looking at me.
"Um is Max here?" I stammered.
He just looked at me with a straight face which made me feel uneasy. He suddenly grab me by my shirt and pulled me inside closing the door and slamming me against it. I gasped as the wind got knocked out of me.
"What do you want with Max dyke." He gritted through his teeth.
"Get off of me!" I said trying to push him off of me.
"Answer me!" he screamed in my face.
"I just wanted to apologize to her." I said still trying to get out of his grip.
"You stay away from Max." He said literally throwing my out the door and slamming it shut.
I laid on the ground wheezing trying to catch my breathe.
"Fucking asshole." I muttered standing up slowing walking back to my bike.
Time skip
"Steve." I groaned walking through the door.
"What the hell happened to you Lo." Steve said rushing over to me.
"I'm fine, I just got the wind knocked out of me." I said walking to the couch.
"How?" He said following me.
"Max's brother Billy."
"Hargrove?"
"Mmhm."
"That son of bi-"
"Steve stop, your not gonna do anything."
"No! I will he think he can just put his hands on you!" He screamed.
"Okay Steven." I said letting him be.
"He wants me to stay away from her." I said looking down.
"Don't you listen to that asshole." Steve said to me.
"Don't worry... I won't."
