Broken Homes and Hearts

Three weeks later...

"Lola can u help me with this box?" Max asked.

"Yea I'm coming Rose." I said getting the box out of her hands.

It's been almost a month since everything. Billy had died leaving his family to grieve their lost. Hopper had died also leaving behind a broken little girl. The byers and El are moving to California leaving their home to start a new one. I had a smile on my face while helping everyone pack but the truth is that I want to scream. Scream at Joyce and try to convince her to stay. Seeing two of my bestfriends leave me leave everyone. I don't blame Joyce for leaving though I would leave if it was up to me too. But it still hurts to watch your childhood bestfriends leave.

I've noticed Max started to change as well. She tries to hide her hurt but I know deep down she truly misses Billy. I always try and get her to talk to me on her feelings but it always starts an argument between us. I know part of her blames herself for Billy dying and I try to tell her that his death isn't her fault and she says she knows but she doesn't act like it.

I walked out the house handing the box to Johnathan and he loaded it into the truck. I walked back inside to find Max and Lucas singing.

"Turn around! Look at what you see! In her face! The mirror of your dreams! Rhymes that keep their secrets! Will unfold behind the clouds!" Max and Lucas sang together. I laughed at the two looking at Dustin who wasn't laughing.

"Wait did we get that verse right? It's unfold behind the clouds?" Max asked.

"Yeah but you're butchering it so could you please stop?" Dustin said.

"So then join us Dustybun." Lucas taunted.

"Yeah come on Dustybun why don't you join them?" I teased.

"No you too Lo." Dustin said rolling his eyes.

"You guys are so funny. You should be on Carson." Dustin sarcastically joked.

"Can't we just hear your rendition?" Max questioned.

"No." Dustin said.

"Please just one verse?" Max begged.

"No. No way it's reserved for Suzie's ears and Suzie's ears alone." Dustin denied.

It went silent an Max and Lucas looked at each and smiled. They both started singing even louder making Dustin flip them off making me laugh.

Everything was now packed and everyone got ready to say goodbye. I went to hug Will first.

"I'm gonna miss you so much." I said to Will trying not to cry.

"I'm gonna miss playing D&D with you and having scary movie marathons." I continued.

"I'm gonna miss you too." Will said into my shoulder.

"Sorry trying not to cry." I chuckled.

"It's ok. It's ok to cry." Will said his eyes also tear up.

I let go of Will going to hug El next.

"I'm gonna miss you El." I said hugging the smaller girl.

"I'm gonna miss you too." She said.

"Here, take this." I said giving her my lucky bracelet.

"So you'll always have a part of me with you in any situation." I said putting the bracelet on for her.
