"Lola hurry up or I'm gonna leave you!" Steve screamed from downstairs.

"I'm coming!" I yelled back.

I rushed down the stairs almost tripping over my feet. I seen Steve walking out the door and rushed out the door before he closed it.

"Finally." Steve said.

"Let me drive. I drive faster." I said hopeful.

"Fine." Steve said tossing me his keys.

Me and Steve walked into the gym as the were getting ready for the national anthem. I didn't know who the woman was but Steve and Robin knew apparently and was laughing their asses off. The way she was singing was a little funny but I didn't get it.

"Told you...Muppet." Steve said making me snort.

"Oh my God, she totally sounds like Kermit." Robin responded.

"Wow. She sounds amazing doesn't she?" Steve's date said to him.

"Yea right." I scoffed.

"Yeah! She sounds fantastic!" Steve lied.

After the national anthem the basketball players came out from the door in their warmup sweats. I seen Lucas and smiled at the boy as he waved. I could tell he was happy that at least one of us showed up.

It was the last quarter and Lucas has been bench warming the whole game. I felt sad for my bestfriend he never got to play in a game before. I gasped when I seen one of the players fall ad twist their ankle. The whole crowd ooed as his fell. The coach grabbed his hair in frustration and pointed to Lucas then pointed to the court. Lucas jumped up and ripped off his pants.

It was the last minute both teams were tied and Hawkins had the ball. Lucas got thrown the ball and it was about twenty seconds left. I seen Jason screaming at him to throw the ball to him but Lucas didn't listen. Lucas shot the ball at the last five seconds and everyone stood up. The ball bounced around the rim and went in and everyone cheered. Damn we really won.

It's the next morning and I had nothing to do so I went to work with Steve and Robin. They both got a new job at a Family video store. I was helping Steve stack tapes and was watching the news when Dustin ran inside and Max behind him.

"Hey Steve." Dustin said.

"You see this?" Steve said to Dustin.

"Umm I'm here you know." I scoffed.

"Hi Lola." Max said making my heart skip a beat.

"H-hi Max." I said nervously.

What the hell

"How many phones do you have?" Dustin asked

"Someone was murdered." Steve said.

"How many phones do you have?" Dustin asked again.

"Two...Why?" Steve asked.

"Three technical if you count Keith's in the back." Robin interrupted.

Dustin tossed his backpack off the counter and slid over the counter making the pile of tapes fall.
