Pep Rally

"Max. But I love you." I whispered.

"No." Max said.

"And you love me." I continued.

"No I don't." Max responded.

"Look at me in the face and tell me you don't love me back." I pleaded.

"I don't love you." Max said emotionless.

I shot up from my bed with tear stained eyes. I checked the time 3:30 a.m. Same dream over and over again, I swung my legs over my bed heading to the bathroom. It's been a while since me and Max broke up. I'm still affected by the situation terribly, I don't think Max is though. When I see her in school she doesn't even bother to look at me or show any emotion of hurt or nothing, but then again I don't either. I opened up the cabinet grabbing the eyedrops putting some in my eyes. I walked back to my room plopping on my bed and not even five minutes later my alarm went off. I looked at the time again as it read 7:15 a.m.

Seriously again.

I groaned opening my eyes grabbing some clothes putting them. I went to Steve's room grabbing some of his cologne spraying it on me.

"Lola hurry up!" I heard Steve say from downstairs.

"We still need to pick up robin!" He continued.

"Just go without me!" I yelled back.

"Are you sure!" He yelled.

"Yeah!" I responded.

I heard the door closed and I sighed going back to my room. I grabbed my converses putting them on and tying them. I grabbed my keys walking out the door and locking it. I walked to my bike putting the key in and revving the engine before speeding off.

I got off my bike walking towards the school. I walked past a bus as someone got out. I turned my head but quickly turned it back around when I seen it was Max. I started to walk faster wiping my eyes almost bumping into someone. I walked into the high school gym because we had a pap rally today for the basketball team. I seen Mike and Dustin already sitting down and I scooted my way towards them.

"Hi lo." Dustin smiled.

"Hey." Mike said at the same time.

I just gave them a simple head nod. I seen someone scoot their way towards me at the corner of my eye. I noticed the red hair and immediately tensed up, I quickly dropped my head wiping the tears before any fell. Even though me and Max hadn't talked in months I still can't help but to try not to cry remembering the last conversation we had. I wanted to get out of here but the pep rally had started to begin.

The band started to play as the cheerleaders did their cheer routine. I picked my head up watching the cheerleaders.

"Look I'm not saying my girlfriends better than yours." Dustin said making me turn my head at them.

"It's just that Suzie's a certified genius." He continued.

I tuned them out just staring into space. I was brought back to reality by Jason saying his speech.

"Sometime I wonder how much loss can one community take?" Jason started.

"In the dark days like this we need something to believe in." He continued.

"So last night, when we were down by ten points at half to Christian Academy. I looked at my team and I said, think of Jack. Think of Melissa. Think of Heather...Think of Billy." Jason said.
