We meet again some sunny day [Tom Nook X Redd}

Part 23 - Left Out

Late one evening on an island where it's always sunny

All the food has been consumed and the group of Tom Lyle and Lottie have gone outside to enjoy the sunset and the remainder of the wine, but Isbale is helping Danny cleanup the mess left behind in the kitchen.

"Thanks again Isabel, I really appreciate it" Danny says washing another spoon

"It's no problem!" she says cheerly putting another glass in the cabinet

Danny sneaks a glance "so, what did you wanna talk about?"

Isabell nearly jumps at the bluntness of the others question, how did they know?

But instead of stammering and blabbering, the blond took a deep breath in

"I'm feeling, left out"

Danny stops washing up and looks over at isabell, who is still staring at the cabinet she just closed, her hands forming tight fists

"Iz.." Danny whispered. Surprised themselves that they were right out their colleague wanting to speak with them privately

"Ever since that...Redd guy came to this island things have been so different, we had last week where everything that could have gone wrong went wrong.

Isabell felt her fists begin to tremble

"and ever since K.K slider's show here last Saturday Tom has really changed. He seems so frantic and spacey and im very unsure if he's even done half the work he usually does"

Danny doesn't really know what to do other then watch her ramble

"And the way he was so ready to just up and leave a few days ago for this one guy that he's only met once! With absolutely zero regard for the people around him, ha! It's like something you'd see in a romantic film..."

Isabell turns to look at Danny as the gears start turning in her head

But here eyes can't see the facial expression that Dannys making through her now blurred vision and as her face starts to crumble she chokes out

"W-what's even happening?"

Breaking news on tortimer island

Redd had continued to do manual labour with Kapp'n for the whole day, he was weirdly jittery but at any moment could pass out, so he decided to have a seat out on the big 3rd floor balcony. His neck was craned upwards so he stared into the inky black sky covered in tiny bright dots.

Taking a deep breath in he enjoys the sea air, lacking any kind of pollution

"Man if only the guys back in the city could see me now"

You know i could get used to this

Redd thought to himself, briefly wondering if he is destined to spend the rest of his days on this island doing odd jobs and art classes for tourists

"And there is no one making you go"

Redds nice ocean breath was nearly kicked out of him as Leilani was suddenly sat in a chair next to him that he was 99% sure wasn't there when he sat down

"Ya know if you talk out loud, people may respond back" she giggles gazing up at the impressive night sky

"I do mean that you know, you are welcome to stay here for well, forever. If that what you want"

Redd nods, taking in the information but at the same time is beginning to go a bit spacey

"We really missed you, when you stopped writing we got worried. We thought..."

Redd turns to look at his old friend, whos looking at him with such worry

"We thought we might never see you again"

Redd reaches out and grabs Leilani's hand and squeezes it tightly

"I'm so sorry Leilani i had no idea" and Redd truly didn't, he never considered that the people he spent most of his teens with would miss him so much to assume that he would be dead than just forgotten about him all together.

He scans Leilani's face "I'll stay, I don't know for how long. But I won't just run away when I go. And that a promise Leilani"

His friend smiles and squeezes his hand back. Glad that her old friend would stay a little while longer, but a part of heart was saddened that it wouldn't be forever

What Leilani would give to have what she used to have. The way her heart yearns to just turn back the clock is not something that couldn't be measured by any reasonable amount.

"It's a really nice night tonight" Redd smiles and looks back up at the sky

Leilani hums and gazes up

Yes, yes it is

Now, back in Danny's kitchen

Dannys has had Isbaell tightly wrapped in a hug for what feels like forever. However they are now sitting on the floor as at one point Isabell slowly started to slip down and Danny just went with it.

Once Isabell regains control of her breathing she separates from danny and begins to rub her eye "I feel like a fool" she mumbles as Danny hands her a surprisingly ornate handkerchief.

"Your not a fool Isabell" dannys says before isabell does an excellent impression of a trumpet while blowing her nose

"S-sorry"

Danny takes a deep breath "Redd has Tom wrapped out his little finger. He irritates Tom even when he's not here. There is something in his mind hellbent on getting revenge but at the same time, wants to be all over him"

Isabells eyes widened "I had no idea..."

Danny sighs "i don't think he even knew himself"

With another confused glance from Isabell Danny explains everything that he knows. And normally he would never do this but Isabell is basically Toms right hand man, it would be criminal for her not to know

"I'm going to force Tom to sit down tomorrow and make a plan, I want you to be there. I want him to give you the chance to tell him yourself " Danny says, a look of determination

"No more leaving you out"

A/N: hello i'm getting this chapter out by the skin of my teeth as TECHNICLY it's still the weekend. this is a little bit shorter than usal but this week as been a doozy, hopefully i'll pick it up next week once i've settled into collage, take care!
