"The world we've discovered doesn't love you as your family loves you."
"Old is Gold."
Sidd (not satisfied): Are you s-sure?
Avu (smiles): Absolutely yes.
Sidd too passed a weak smile to her. Avni wanted to say something for which she was finding a way to start the conversation but when she didn't get a way to start a conversation and failed miserably. So, she just came to the point.
Avu: Ah,...You wanted money right?
Asked Avni out of blue. Sidd just looked down not knowing what to say. On one hand, he wanted but on another hand, he had a doubt that Avni will ask it to return which he would not be able to do. He himself didn't know whether he would be able to return it or not. Sidd was quiet all the time in the answer and Avneet understood his silence. She smiled as she understood his fear.
Avu: Don't worry I won't ask you to return.
Sidd didn't say anything but was shocked that how she got to know what he was thinking.
Avu: Chill dude! Wait for a second (picked a bundle of money from the bag and forwarding to Sidd) here you go 10000 dollars.
Avu raised her eyebrow with a straight face while it went stunned Sidd. He didn't know what to do. Either to accept or to reject. But finally being logical he accepted as he knew that he really need it
Sidd: T-Thank you.
He said accepting the bundle and smiling forcefully.
Avu: It's ok. In 20 minutes you will be discharged. Till then I have work, I will be back.
Excused Avni as she saw a nurse entering the room. The nurse checked Sidd's bp and gave him an injection ordering him to sleep for some time.
At Evening,
Sidd got discharged from the hospital with a bundle of vitamin medicines. He was coming happy with a bag of medicines near his flat when he saw the landlords throwing his clothes and bags out of the flat. He rushed to see them throwing everything out with the landlord also standing there. He ran to him.
Sidd (worried)= Sir...Sir, what are you doing? Please don't do this.
Landlord= you are living here for the last 3 weeks and didn't give even a piny for living here. Now it's 1 month I can't tolerate you anymore. I don't have money to waste on you.
Sidd= Sir..I have money. I bought some money.
The landlord pushed him a bit giving side to his men.
Landlord= Till when will you lie huh..?
Sidd= Sir I am not lying. I have money
Landlord= I have seen many liars like you. (To his men) be quick
Sidd didn't have any other option so he took out the bundle of dollars given to him. The landlord was taken aback seeing 10,000 dollars in his hand. He picked up 800 dollars and handed it to the landlord.
Sidd= here you go. Rent of 6 months but please let me live here.
The landlord looked at him suspiciously and then signed his men to stop and they stopped. He glanced at Sidd suspiciously once again before counting the dollars.
Landlord= from next time be on time. This time I am letting you live in my flat but won't allow it next time.
He nodded smiling sadly and they all left shifting Sidd's bag and things inside and arranging them again. Sidd released a heavy breath going inside. He shut the door hard leaning on it and that's why he again felt his head becoming heavy.
Sidd= uff, this pain! I should take medicines before it goes worse.
He headed to the kitchen pouring water and gulping down 2 tablets. He was sitting drinking water when he saw a lipstick mark on his hand. He kept the glass aside and lay down on the bed staring at the mark. It was a mark of pink lipstick. Avni's face came in front of him. Her smiling face, when he gained consciousness, flashed in front of his eyes and he don't know why he felt something awkward meeting her. Her confidence scared him for a second. He didn't know when staring at that mark he was embraced by the thick darkness of sleep.
