Chapter 53

Abhi (cracky voice): Ashu! I am sorry.

Sidd (straight face): I am here to feed you. Please don't repeat the past again and again.

He sat down on the chair beside the bed, taking the bowl in his hand. He forwarded the spoon towards his brother while his brother looked at him with tears in his eyes but now those tears were useless and worthless. Sidd forwarded the last bite which he ate quietly. He exhaled sharply, keeping the soul pot aside and stood up turning to leave. That's when he again heard his brother's call.

Abhi (cracky voice): Ashu! Please listen to me. I was blinded by Aarush. I know I shouldn't have listened but....... I'm sorry.

Sidd chuckled humorously, turning to face his brother.

Sidd: Your sorry is just like tape on a broken glass which cannot be repaired as before, no matter how much you tape it. Anyway, the doctor informed me that you will be under observation till tomorrow. The day after tomorrow, you will be discharged.

Saying this, he left the room leaving Abhi in tears of guilt. Sidd came outside to see Avneet already sitting there, waiting for him. Avu stood up, pacing towards him.

Avu (keeping her hand on his shoulder): Is everything alright?

Sidd nodded with a sad smile.

Sidd (convincing): Would you like to meet Vaishu di's parents?

Avu nodded smiling. Sidd held her hand and both left the hospital informing Vaishu.

At Vaishu's home,

The doorbell rang. Vaishu's dad went to open the door and found Siddharth and Avneet standing there.

Sidd: good evening uncle!

Vaishu's dad (concerned, tensed): Sidd beta, is everything fine? Is Abhishek alright?

Sidd (holding his hand): Yes, uncle! Relax, everything is fine. Dada is also fine.

Vaishu's dad signed in relief and welcomed them. They sat on the couch while Vaishu's mom served them juice.

Vaishu's dad: How are you Siddharth beta?

Sidd (smiling): I'm good, how about you?

Vaishu's dad: Days pass on.

Sidd smiled forcefully, being nervous to take about this topic.

Vaishu's mom (sitting beside Avneet): Sidd beta, you got married and you didn't told us. God bless your wife is so beautiful.

She complimented caressing her hair while Avu blushed, looking down.

Sidd: She is my strength also.

Avu and Sidd had an eye contact. That's when, they heard someone rushing footsteps. They all saw Sam running towards living room. Sam stopped there as soon as she saw Sidd while Sidd smiled at her. She ran to Sidd with concern in her eyes.

Sam (concerned): Chachu, my papa is fine na? Nothing happened to him, right?

Sidd kissed her forehead, cupping her cheeks. He held her shoulder, wiping her tears.

Sidd: He is fine, Sammy!

Sam (smiling like an idiot): Pakka na?

Sidd nodded with a smile as tears filled in his eyes. This made Sam tensed again.

Sam: then why are you crying?

Sidd blinked his eyes several times, shaking his head in no.

Sidd (holding her shoulder): Go and Freshup, then we are going to meet papa, hmm!

Sam nodded happily and left from there.

Sidd: Uncle, I also wanted to talk to you about something.

Vaishu's dad nodded asking him to continue.

Sidd: What has Vaishu di thought about future?

Vaishu's dad exhaled sharply.

Vaishu's dad: According to her, she doesn't want to live with Abhi now.

Sidd gulped down in saliva.

Sidd: But then why was she showing so much concern towards dada in the hospital?

Vaishu's mom: She is fighting with her heart Sidd. She doesn't want to divorce Abhi but also wants to give him punishment. God knows what is going in her mind.

Sidd (standing up): We wish whatever happens would be better in their fair.

That's when, Sam came there wearing her sangles and a small purse. Avneet chuckled seeing her.

Sam: Let's go Chachu!

Everyone chuckled seeing her ready. Sidd hugged Vaishu's mom and dad.

Sidd: Remember us in your prayers.

Vaishu's mom caressed his cheek like a mother to her son.

Abhishek and Vaishnavi were in the hospital room while Abhi was lying on the hospital bed while being treated by a doctor. Vaishu was behind them at a distance, examining his every injury while Abhi was continuously glancing at Vaishu. That's when the doctor turned towards Vaishu while she got attentive.

Doctor: He is much better now. He is recovering very quickly. His all vitals are stable and his fracture is also much better. So, you can take him home. We are discharging him.

That's when Sidd and Avu entered the room. Sidd looked at the doctor who smiled, signing him to come out. Sidd signed Avu before leaving while Avu's eyes caught embarrassment on Vaishu's face.

Sidd (walking along with doctor): Doctor, is everything fine? You called me out.

Doctor (walking with Sidd): Everything is fine Mr. Nigam. All I needed was to inform you that your brother's head injury is to be considered serious. He would need rest for 2 weeks for proper recovery and in this period, you have to be responsible. Give him medicines at a time and don't let him take any stress.

Sidd just nodded with a smile while the doctor left.

Sidd (looking back at door, in mind): I want to go back to you dada but I am not able to forget everything that happened. I wish my memory gets lost so that I can forget all those taunts, unfairness, everything.

He stepped inside the room to see Vaishu and Avu standing there in silence. There was a haunting silence all around.

Sidd (clearing his throat): I am going to get the car here. I will send the nurses to help dada.

Abhi: Ashu!

Sidd looked at him.

Abhi (cracky voice): I don't want nurses to help. I just need your shoulder.

A tear fell from Sidd's eye. He moved towards his brother after thinking for a moment. He bend down beside Abhi's bed while Abhi's eyes leaked tears. He encircled his arm around Sidd while Vaishu also came on the other side for support. Sidd held his brother's waist as he tried to get up. Abhi groaned as a sharp pain hit him.

Sidd: Be careful. Avu!

Sidd threw the keys towards Avu while she caught them. She nodded her head, leaving the room.  Abhi was walking with baby steps while Sidd holding his weight. Abhi felt like his brother returned, his Ashu returned and came back to him not knowing that he was ready to leave him again as soon as he gets well.
