Anna walked beside me as we entered the mansion. She was embarrassed by the incident earlier and kept her head down

"Is there something you want to say" I arched my brow at my men who were smirking and looking at us making Anna more embarrassed than she already was

Everyone shut their mouths and scattered doing their tasks

"Thank you" Anna pecked my cheeks

"Toff I swear if you ask me that one more time..." I hear Slaiman as we walk down the hallway and by the calmness in his voice, I know he is barely hanging to his sanity

"I don't care where are Anna and Lee?" Toff huffed

"I said Anna is on the way here with Ed and Lee should be here in some time, now love come here" he said as we opened the door to the drawing-room to see Slaiman hugging angry-looking Toff with her hands folded

"Anna" Toff got out of Slaiman's grip and jumped on Anna as soon as she saw her

"Hi Toff, what's happening guys?" Anna questioned no one in particular, her questionable eyes bouncing between me and Slaiman

"They are going on a mission" Toff whispers in her ears

My head snapped toward Slaiman, this man can never keep a thing from his girl

"So my suspicion was right. Were you even going to tell me?" Anna glared at me Toff now standing beside her

"Babe let's go" Slaiman advanced towards Toff and went upstairs taking her hand in his

Anna did not say anything but stormed upstairs to my room. I followed suit

"Is it Jowar? " she asked as soon as I closed the door

She was sitting on the edge of the bed crossing her hands over her chest and I was distracted for a moment but nodded my head humming

I stood in front of her, if I was not looking closely, I would have missed that she was shaking. I instantly put my hand on her shoulder

"Hey princess, it's not the first time I am going on a mission. I am going to be alright. I promise" I assured her

"I don't know how am I supposed to..." she stopped mid-sentence and unfolded her hands bringing them around my waist

Since she is sitting and I am still standing her head rested on my stomach

I picked her up, she circled her legs around my waist her ears now near my heart

"You hear that beating?" I cooed stroking her hair with one hand and the other around her waist keeping her secure to my waist

She nodded

"Just remember that my heart beats for you my love and as long as I love you my princess it will keep beating, and I don't plan to stop loving...like never" I said and she tighten her grip on me

I was sitting on the bed leaning on the headboard, Anna straddling me. Her head now buried in my neck

"I want a promise" she out of nowhere

"Whatever you say princess" she straightens herself, her eyes looking at mine. I saw her getting distracted as she trailed her eyes over my lips but those pretty eyes meet my immediately

"Get me a bag of chips on your way back from the mission" I looked at her questionably, isn't this an odd request?

"My dad used to get my mom a bag of milk when he returned home every night, and her morning coffee was made using the same bag of milk so I questioned my mom one day and she told me, ever since my father was young he was a workaholic and would work long hours or would not return home sometimes. So she made him promise that he would get her milk for her morning coffee and my mom gets very grumpy and sad if she misses her morning drink so dad started to come home every night with a bag of milk just to make sure mom has a good start to her day" she smiled at the memory

"And you want to say you are going to continue the tradition" I smiled at her, her eyes lit up

"It is the hope and confidence my mom had in my dad that he would return home. Such a minor thing but still he never missed a day" she said, and me getting a bag of chips just for her gives her hope for my return I thought

"You know I will never break my promise to you" her eyes sparkled with contentment, and she pecked my lips as of sealing our promise to each other

"Any special requests for that bag of chips?"

"You know the drill" she chuckled, she has been obsessed with these spicy chips she brought once at the vending machine at the mall, she loved them so much he had me find a shop where they sold them because the vending machine would get raided for those chips. Apparently, everyone loves them
