Kachi didn't seek her out that night. It pained her to admit but she'd waited for him. After taking a shower, she'd found the shortest nightgown in the wardrobe and changed into. Then she'd waited and waited some more. It wasn't until five in the morning before she dozed off and still he didn't come. Now it was almost noon and she was starving. If he wasn't going to at least check on her, then she should find her way home. What was the point of her remaining here if he would ignore her? Sighing for the third time that morning, she tugged on her jeans and t-shirt and then grabbed her purse. After a quick look in the mirror she was ready to go.
She saw him immediately she came down the stairs. He was seated in the living room, wearing just sweatpants, nothing else. He looked freshly showered too with his damp hair and she could still see a few drops of water on his chest. Aria paused to access; should she go or would it be better to just stay? This man was just too attractive for his own good. She couldn't believe she was considering spending the day with him.
"Where are you going to?" he asked, his gaze on the television set in front of him.
Was this man averse to greeting? Why did he have to sound rude and confrontational all the damn time?
"Good morning Kachi," she smiled, choosing to say no to violence this morning. She hadn't even had breakfast yet so there was no way she was letting him get to her. "No work?" She took a few steps closer to him and looked at the television. It was then she noticed the game controller in his hand. The man was legit playing Mortal Kombat. She almost laughed at how utterly normal he seemed. At the end of the day and after all his gra gra he was still just a man.
"Its Saturday. I don't work Saturdays and Sundays," he replied, his focus still on the game. She watched him play, staring at the slight frown he was wearing and how he bit his lips in concentration. She also noticed he squinted at the screen.
"Do you need glasses? You're squinting badly."
He immediately relaxed his features. "I have perfect eyesight. I tend to squint when I'm concentrating on something."
"And this game you're playing, Mortal Kombat? That's what you need to concentrate on?"
He ignored her, asking his own question instead. "Where are you going to? Back to the club?"
"If I say yes nko?"
He didn't even look up as he replied. "You'll vomit my money then."
"I'll be going to the club," she replied, daring him to look at her.
"No problem, as long as we have an understanding."
"I'm going there to resign. You don't expect me to just ghost my employer."
He looked up then, his gaze sweeping over her from head to toe, then he nodded and looked away.
That was it? He didn't have more to say?
"Are you hungry? They made spaghetti for breakfast," he said after they'd both been quiet for a while. "Its almost time for lunch."
"I'll eat before I go."
"Can you play?" He waved the extra game controller in the air. She turned to look at the television, seeing that he'd won that round. "It gets boring playing on my own."
"Oh I'm a goddess at Mortal Kombat. I'll whip your fucking ass in this game." She chuckled.
Kachi's eyes seemed to gleam at the promise of competition. "Don't cuss, girl."
Her eyes immediately flashed as she opened her mouth to retort. It was okay when he did it but not her? How sexist!
"And before you fight me, its not because you're a woman. I don't want to hear crass words from your beautiful lips. I cuss only when I'm mad or frustrated and I'm trying to curb that habit."
He thought her mouth was beautiful? She didn't know how to feel about that. There were certain words she never dreamed of hearing from Kachi's mouth. Beautiful certainly topped the list of things he'd never call her.
"I'll play just one game after eating and then I have to go, okay? I want to get to the club before it gets too busy."
"Sit and play, they'll bring your food." He tapped the space beside him. She dropped her purse on the couch closest to her and then made her way to him. He placed a call on the house phone and ordered for her food. She barely registered what he said, her mind was all too focused on how hot his thighs felt against her and how good he smelled.

He waited for the older man to come into the private bar and then sit down, all the while making sure his cap covered the top half of his face.
"Good evening sir," he greeted once the Governor was seated. The man didn't bother to return the greeting, he just stared at him.
"Why did you call me out here?" the man finally asked. "I was told to find another way to hide my money."
"Kachi is my friend and I've found a way to convince him sir."
"How?" The older man's eyes widened in excitement and he immediately leaned forward.
"I can't tell you but you just have to trust me. He'll open the ghost account and make sure your money is safe there."
"Hm. You do know what will happen if you're trying to deceive me. It's a lot of money and if any of it gets missing, your entire family will be dead within twenty four hours."
He swallowed in fear. The Governor's reputation was widely known in the streets and he knew how dangerous it was. Still, he had no choice. He was tired of his other friends stepping all over him, especially that Kachi. He too wanted to be as rich and powerful as them.
"I understand sir. Your money would be secure. When do you want to make the first deposit?"
"In about three months. But before then, you have to get the account open and send all the necessary documents to me."
He scratched his head and looked around before leaning in to whisper. "How much and how many percent do I get?"
The older man waved for him to come closer and he did. The man held a hand to his ear and whispered the astronomical amount to him. If he got ten percent of it as the man promised, he was set for life. He and his family would never suffer again. He could only imagine how much more he would make from other deposits. The Governor had also hinted that some of his friends needed the same treatment. This was big fucking money!
"Its huge money, boy. So you better make this work," the man said and leaned back in his chair.
"Everything will work out as planned. I'll keep in touch," he reassured the Governor.
