Baby? Did he just call her baby? Usually he called her by her name or sometimes he referred to her as 'girl'. What was this? Was she allowed to freak out about this? Was it too soon?

Aria was pulled out of her distracting thoughts when Kachi cleared his throat, reminding her that she'd yet to say anything since she answered the call.

She cleared her throat. "Good evening." Her response was awkward, add that to the fact that he'd also cleared his throat and she wanted to die of embarrassment. What was wrong with her?

Kachi chuckled lightly. "Where are you?"

"Home."

"Can you come over?"

"Usman is here?" She hurried to her living room window, hoping to see the familiar dark car parked outside, but there was none.

"No. I'm here—"

"Here? Where?" She was flinging her door open before he could complete his sentence. There was no one outside her door so she reasoned that he must be downstairs still.

"The third apartment on your floor, two doors from yours."

It was then she remembered he was her neighbor. She'd wondered which house was his, especially since she'd never seen him here since the time they met on the stairs. Aria shut her door and made her way to his apartment. The door opened just as she lifted her hand to knock and she was met with Kachi's handsome face that was currently wearing a smile.

God had sha taken his time to create this man, she thought. He removed his phone from his ear, ending the call and she did same.

"Come in." He stepped aside to let her pass. The house was identical to hers, the difference was in the furniture and overall interior decoration. But the structure was the same. She knew if she took the hallway by her left, she'd be in his kitchen. "I missed you," Kachi said as he followed her. "I didn't know how much till I saw you in my office today. I thought I was dreaming."

What was this? She couldn't believe that after months of wishing for this, it was happening. This beautiful man was saying he missed her.

"Why are you doing this?" It was still hard to believe and part of her felt this was a cruel joke. "I can't believe that you care for me. If you did, why did you disappear?"

"It's a long story and it's complicated."

Long story? Complicated? What was it that he couldn't tell her? He'd ghosted her and had no intention of coming back. If she hadn't gone to see him, would he have confessed how he felt? Sure, the money he kept sending and paying off the loan would have eventually brought her to him, so she could give him that. He'd tried to create a link. But how could they just move on without a proper discussion about it? She deserved at least that much, didn't she?

"Tell me, I'm ready to listen." She turned to face him, holding his gaze.

"Another time." He stepped closer to her. "I'm trying to tell you how I feel about you. Let's focus on the present eh, there would be time to discuss the past." His hands reached out and wrapped around her waist, pulling her closer. She should stand her ground and insist he tells her everything, but there was something about the warmth of his body against hers. She couldn't pull back, she was totally captivated by the feel of him against her.

"Can't we start over, on a clean slate?" he asked.

Clean slate? She still had that money he sent her. There was no clean slate if she held onto it.

"Only if you accept the money you sent those months. I also sold the necklace and I'd give you back the money. The loan too, I'll work on it."

Kachi sighed. "Baby please. I can't let you do that, especially the loan. We looked over the account and there were some technicalities that's why the interest became that huge. Since it's our fault, we fixed it. Can you let it go?"

"What about the rest of the money? I can't keep it."

"The necklace was a gift, so you can't return that. Let's stop dragging this please. Right now, I really want to kiss you but all you're worried about is how to return the money."

"Oh," she said. He couldn't blame her for that naw. The man had gone overboard with it and she felt somehow holding on to that much money.

"Yes. Clean slate?"

She sighed and then opened her mouth to complain more, but Kachi pressed his lips against hers. All thoughts flew from her head and she couldn't even remember what they'd been talking about. Her hands went around his neck and her fingers gripped his hair. This was the feeling she'd missed; his ability to completely distract her.

His hands moved down to grab her ass, pressing her closer to him. He kissed like a man starved, almost devouring her. To her, it seemed like he wanted to make up for all the time they'd been apart and Aria was a willing participant. Her hands crept down without her knowledge and it wasn't until Kachi gripped her fingers that she realized she'd been battling with his shirt buttons.

He pulled away slightly. "Chill baby. I'm not going anywhere." He placed small kisses on her lips, her cheeks, her jaw. He cupped her face so he could really stare into her eyes. "I want to savour this moment."

She didn't have words. Aria pulled his lips back to hers, kissing him with passion. She bit his lip and then licked at it with her tongue. Kachi groaned and tugged on her t-shirt. She pulled away as he removed it and flung it. She'd forgone a bra since she'd been home and soon, his lips were on her breasts. He kissed and sucked on them until she was whimpering. Everything felt too good, but she wanted more. It had been too long and she needed him so much.

Kachi didn't complain when she unbuckled his belt and tugged his zipper down. She struggled with his trousers and boxers until Kachi pushed them down himself.

"I want you inside," she moaned, wrapping her fingers around his already erect cock. She began to stroke the heated length and Kachi's eyes screwed shut.

"I don't have protection with me." He groaned and pushed himself into her hand, silently telling her to add more pressure.

She blinked her eyes open. "Why?"

"I left the office immediately my meetings ended and came straight here. It didn't even occur to me."

"I don't have at my apartment. What should we do?"

"Let's stop?" His statement ended in a question, leaving her to decide.

Stop? Aria almost screamed in frustration. She was too revved up to stop now. "I'm clean and on birth control." What was wrong with her? She'd never had unprotected sex before, so why was she even suggesting it.

"I'm clean too, but—"

She kissed him, not giving him chance to protest. Her hand began pumping him harder and she reveled in the way his body tightened and bowed towards her.

"Bedroom, now."
