I did a thing

Hey guys. Sorry for the lack of update. I've been really down for a while now and I decided to come talk about it here.

These past months, I've gotten lots of emails from editors in different writing apps. They show interest in my books and propose a contract. I'm told to start uploading and then I should submit it for a screening. After weeks of updating and waiting, they didn't get back to me so I contacted them. Three of them said they were sorry but my book wasn't selected.

One even suggested changing a lot of things in the books to fit their criteria or that I should write a new book in the category they'd select for me. They also pointed out important details that these books must have to get signed by them.

It was heartbreaking for me. I've been trying hard to not let it get to me but it's not been easy. I felt like my book was not enough and I even seriously considered doing as they suggested and editing my books to fit their criteria. Why did I consider that? Well I want to get signed lol. I need the money!

I have always planned to have writing as a career but I wanted to write books I loved. I wanted a real connection with the readers who love the characters and the books as much as I did. I love every one of my works and it's painful to get so many rejections, especially after they first contacted me.

So I did a thing.

I created a Patreon account. There, I'll be posting new updates to Subdued and my other ongoing books. I'll post two chapters weekly there and one chapter weekly on Wattpad. You'll also get access to a new book that would be exclusive only on Patreon. That book is Chike and Ada's story so I am sure you'd love it.

To be a patron member, you only need to pay three dollars a month. You may be asking why should I have to pay for a book? I know right, why should you. Still, see it as a form of support for me the author. I put in a lot of work and time to write and your support there would make it easier for me.

That doesn't mean I won't write on Wattpad, I will. But only once a week.
