"I'm hungry," Kachi said with a groan hours after their last round of lovemaking. Aria snickered as his stomach grumbled shortly after."You've not had dinner?" She looked up at the wall clock, seeing that it was almost three in the morning. "It's quite late o."
"You make me do stupid things," he groaned again. "I didn't think about eating and just hurried to see you."
Aria laughed again then sat up. He sat up when she stood and began searching for her clothes.
"Where are you going?"
"To fix you something light," she replied.
Kachi grinned. "My kitchen is utterly empty. I've never cooked here before."
"Like you can cook," she teased as she pulled on her t-shirt and shorts. He stood up too and made his way to her, wrapping his arms around her.
"I am actually a good cook."
"Says the man who has chefs."
"That's because I'm too busy." He placed a tender kiss on her forehead and Aria felt butterflies dance in her tummy.
"I'll fix you something at my place, let's go." She tried pulling away but Kachi tightened his hold on her, pressing her against his erect member. "Oh God!" She looked up at him. "Don't you get tired? You just said you were hungry."
"It's not my fault you look so tempting." She smacked his chest and he let out a laugh that made his shoulders shake. "Fine let's go eat before we do anything else."
He held her hand as they made their way out of his apartment and then into hers, only letting go when they were inside her kitchen. She pulled open cupboards and got things she needed while his gaze traveled around. She was glad that she'd had one of her stress-relieving clean up yesterday so everything was spotless.
"I'll fry plantains with egg sauce, is that okay?" She turned to look at him and he nodded, walking towards her.
"I'll slice the tomato, onion and peppers," he offered and she let him. The more hands there were, the faster they'd be and she couldn't wait to go back to bed with her man.
They made small talk as they worked and she found that it was easy to make Kachi smile. He was like a little boy that found something funny in almost everything she said. He was so different from the man she'd met earlier on. It would be incredibly easy to fall for this man, she thought.
"What's your native name?" he asked when they'd gone quiet for a few minutes.
"Nkemdilichukwu."
"You're Igbo?" He turned to look at her, surprise written over his face.
"My surname is Okoye, that's a typical Igbo name." She giggled as she fried plantains, taking a step back to avoid getting splashed with hot oil. Kachi took the fork from her and continued the frying.
"I don't know how I missed that," he said. "Your English name is Zariah, is that not a Muslim name?"
"Yes. My mom named me after her best friend that died."
"Nkem," he said, sounding out her name. "your name is perfect, you know that right?"
"How?" she asked and watched as he began to scoop out the plantains. He didn't respond till he had the next batch in the pan.
"Nkem means mine and you're mine. It's amazing."
She giggled but didn't remind him that was an abbreviation of her entire name. "What's your English name?"
