Kachi was out of the car even before it had stopped. Immediately Usman slowed down, he opened the door and jumped out. He'd texted Pete to wait outside the fenced compound so he assumed the man currently pacing under the streetlight was him. He could hear Chike talking to Usman and the sounds of them following him, but it was not enough to deter him.

"Pete?" he called out and the man turned immediately, surprise and then recognition playing on his face. Kachi didn't hesitate. He landed a punch to the man's stomach and another one to his side, making the shorter man bow low in pain.

"Fuck," he cursed, trying to force air into his lungs. Pete had recognized the man as Aria's boyfriend immediately he turned, and on seeing the madness in his eyes, knew he would definitely get hit. He'd been prepared to block his face from any attacks so he was unable to do anything when Kachi hit him.

"What did you do to her?" The man's deep voice intimidated him, Pete admitted to himself. And it didn't help that he was with two other men who were almost as large as him.

"Nothing," he managed to wheeze out, still clutching his stomach and side.

"The fuck?" Kachi landed another blow, one Pete blocked with his hands. He probably deserved the first hits for leaving his best friend alone in that room, but he'd be damned if he stayed still and became a punching bag.

Straightening his stance, he matched the look in Kachi's eyes. "I didn't do anything. The bastard who touched her has been thoroughly messed up."

Kachi gripped his collar, bringing their faces close together. "Where is this bastard?"

"At the police station."

The larger man pushed away from him, his hands gripping his head. "Fuck!"

"Relax Kay," one of the men patted his shoulder. Pete recognized the other as the driver that picked Aria up earlier on.

"I want to kill him myself," Kachi growled. "Why did you get him arrested before I got there?" He whirled around to glare at Pete. The shorter man was sure he would have attacked him if the other guy wasn't holding on to him.

"I'm sure Azu has some connections so we can make this guy suffer. Just relax eh," his friend tried to calm him down.

"What exactly happened to her?"

"He confessed after a few beatings. He kissed her and she kicked him in the nuts. The dress got torn as she tried to run away. That was all that happened." Pete knew stating the exact facts were the only thing that would calm Kachi. He needed the man to know that the unthinkable hadn't happened.

Kachi didn't seem calmer down before and his glare hardened even more as he stared at Pete. He could feel Chike's hand on his shoulder and he could hear the man assuring him that Aria hadn't been hurt that much but his mind couldn't settle. That bastard had put his hands on his woman and not only his hands, he had even kissed her! He would not rest till that hand was removed from the man's body.

"What station?" he asked.

"The one at—" Pete was saying.

"He won't be going anywhere tonight, Azu and I would make sure of it," Chike interrupted, squeezing his friend's shoulders. "Right now, you need to go to your woman and make sure she's okay. She needs you."

Kachi didn't say anything, only shrugged off the hand on him then walked to the car. The men went with him and it wasn't until they'd driven off that Pete could breathe again. He really pitied the idiot that put hands on Aria, because from the looks of it, this man could commit murder.

She was pulled out of her sleep by arms encircling her. Aria went still, wondering if she was somehow still in that house and the man had finally succeeded.

"It's me," she heard the voice and felt it vibrate through her body. "You're safe," Kachi assured her.

She inhaled his scent, still it wasn't enough to get her muscles to unlock. Kachi patted her damp hair, his other hand tight around her waist as she tried to steady her breathing.

"What time is it?" she asked in a cracked voice.

"It's past two in the morning. You've been sleeping fitfully."

"Water," she croaked. "My throat feels dry."

He slowly removed himself from the bed, careful not to disturb her then grabbed a bottled water from the nightstand. After helping her sit, he opened the water and held it to her mouth.

"I'm fine, you don't have to baby me," she grumbled. Worse things have happened to her. Sure, she was a little shaken up, but not to the point of needing to be fed and waited on.

"You'll have to allow me, dear. I was really scared when you came in." He left the water for her and she drank almost the entire bottle, exhaling when she was done.

"Where did you go? I asked Azu and he just said out."

"Let's talk about it later. For now, your hair is damp and I don't want you to catch a cold. I wrapped a towel around your head while you slept but you kept tossing and turning." He stood up and plugged in a hair dryer then motioned for her to come sit at the vanity table.

Their eyes met in the mirror and she smiled at him. Kachi looked tense and vulnerable right now and it shocked her a little bit. This was the man that looked fearless in all situations but now she could see the worry and tension in his gaze. It felt wrong to her.

"I really am fine. Nothing happened and I made sure to give him a good kick. It's just the drugs I think was in the drink that made me sleepy." She realized her mistake the same time his body went still and he dropped the dryer on the table, bringing his hands up to grip her chair.

"Drugs? What drugs?" There was barely contained fury in his voice and she didn't want to be on the other side of his anger.

"I think my drink was laced. They probably put it in the cup before pouring the drinks because I was the only one affected." She'd already fucked up by mentioning it so it was better to just let everything out. "I can't remember who gave me the cup. It was probably the same guy."

"I'm going to fucking kill him." His grip on her chair tightened. "Ripping his hands off won't be enough. He deserves to die for what he did."

She knew he could make it possible, that's how scary his power was. With enough money in this country, you could practically do anything. She placed her hands atop his and he visibly relaxed. "I'm okay with him spending a few nights in jail. Thankfully it didn't get any worse."

"It could have," was all he said, his gaze etched with worry and anger, so much anger.

"But it didn't. And I'm fine." Simply telling him was not reassuring him enough, she had to show him. "I need you, baby. Can you hold me till I fall back asleep?" The simple task might help him calm down. Not being able to do anything would definitely be harder for him. "Let's go to bed, okay?"
