When they got to the lounge, Chike, Ada and the other guys were already there. Just like she'd feared, Kachi had indeed made them late. Getting into the shower together had been a bad idea. She bit her lower lip in a bid to stop her smile. His jealousy had made him ravenous and impatient and she couldn't complain.
Ada was the first to notice them, immediately breaking into a wide grin as she stood up and made her way to them. She hugged Kachi before pulling her into a hug.
"It's so nice to see you again. I thought Chike totally fucked things up for you guys." Ada whispered.
Aria smiled. "Please don't stress about that, I've even forgotten about it." And really she had forgotten how crass Chike had been. She could understand how he felt that evening so she didn't hold it against him.
Kachi exchanged man-hugs with his guys then shook the hand of the other woman seated beside them. "Guys, meet my girlfriend Aria," he introduced her, pulling her to his side.
"I have seen you before right?" one of his friends asked. He was the only light skinned one amongst the men. Kachi's friends were all tall and beautiful men, she could imagine the heads they turned whenever they were out together.
"Yes, Azu. She's his dancer," Chike replied before offering her a small smile. "I'm glad you could make it," he said to Aria.
If this was Azu, then the other guy must be Bode. Kachi had mentioned their names once in a while.
"So you were serious about this?" Bode turned to Kachi. "I didn't think you were the settling type. Also, what about—"
"You should say hello to the lady first," Azu interrupted.
Bode turned to her. "Nice to meet you again. I'm Bode."
"Hello everyone." She greeted them, then Kachi led her to a couch. The girl that was with Azu eyed her and Aria stopped herself from rolling her eyes. What was it with Nigerian women not greeting each other? Especially when they were out with guys.
"What would you guys like to drink? I feel like paying today." Kachi rubbed his hands together. His excitement could be felt and his friends exchanged grins before letting him know what they wanted. Kachi stood up and the guys followed, saying they would help him get the drinks, leaving the three women behind.
"That's Betty. She's Azu's off and on friend," Ada said as she moved closer to Aria.
"Nice to meet you," Betty said. "Although I'm surprised you guys are taking this relationship seriously. Has he finally broken up with Rose?"
Rose? Who was that? Kachi had never mentioned his ex but she knew that he'd been in a relationship. They'd skirted the topic of past relationships all these weeks, instead they chose to focus on each other.
"If he was still with Rose, do you think he'd introduce her to his closest friend," Ada snapped and eyed the other woman. "Aria please forget what she said."
"Men are something else, I'm just saying because I don't want my fellow woman to be in an unfavorable situation," Betty replied. When Ada kept giving her dirty looks, Betty finally looked away.
"So it's official now?" Ada asked Aria. "You guys are dating for real?"
She couldn't help the smile that spread across her face, she was so happy. "Yes we're dating for real." She decided to focus on the happy bubble she and Kachi were in. There was no need to start thinking about his past. It's not like she didn't know that he had an extensive past before she started dating him, so there was no need to dwell so much on it.
The guys returned with the drinks and Kachi sat down beside her, pulling her close. She smiled in return. This was one of his traits she liked, he was a touchy person and didn't see reason why he should stop himself even when in public.
