"So that is why I need you to come over, sir." It was almost midnight and Usman had finally had enough. Being on standby for hours, he was sure Mr. Onyekachi had forgotten about his presence, still he couldn't just leave the man.
"You're sure she's not just avoiding him?" Mr. Azu asked.
"I'm sure. No one has heard from her in about four hours. Her phone keeps ringing and ringing."
"I'm tied up with work right now. Let me call Chike or Bode. I'll join them in about an hour."
"Thank you sir." He ended the call just in time to hear the doorbell. By the time he left the dining room where he'd been spending his time, Mr. Onyekachi was already walking to the door.
From the stiffness in his employer's back, he could already tell it wasn't Miss Aria.
"Chike," Mr. Onyekachi said. "Did you call him?"
"I did. Are you sure about this? You cut ties with the underworld a long time ago."
"I called Zorro. He's on his way to Lagos. I know someone is behind this." Mr. Onyekachi made his way to a seat, his friend following.
Usman would give anything to know what the two men were discussing with such expressions on their faces.
"Should I call Azu? He has more people with their ears to the ground," Mr Chike suggested but his friend stiffly shook his head. Usman wanted to tell them he'd called already.
"His head is too hot. I need to be thinking clearly."
Usman almost laughed at that. If he'd been asked to pick the levelheaded person between Mr. Onyekachi and his friend, he'd pick his employer last. A phone rang and Chike waved it in front of Mr. Onyekachi before answering.
"Usman, you can go home," Mr. Onyekachi called, startling him. He'd forgotten himself and was shamelessly listening in on his boss' conversation.
He nodded in appreciation and apology before hurrying out, hoping to God that Miss Aria would be safe.

Kachi was too chill for his liking. Chike had never seen his friend like this. The man was not the type to stay still whilst something this huge was going on. Especially when it concerned the love of his life. Chike was honestly scared. He knew that underneath that calm facade, a monster was brewing; one that didn't listen to reason and didn't spare a thought to later consequences.
He turned away so he could speak to Azu who was now calling non-stop. It was almost like the man knew what was up.
"Guy, what's up?"
Azu didn't waste time with exchanging pleasantries. "Where are you? Can you get to Kachi now? I'll join you in a few minutes."
"I'm with Kachi, but he doesn't want you to come," Chike replied.
"How's he doing? Have you guys heard anything?"
"He asked me to call Oga Ade." Chike paused to let his friend digest that piece of information. "He called Zorro."
"I'm on my way now. Don't let him out of your sight and don't let him meet up with Zorro before I get there." Azu hung up.
Chike understood immediately. There was a story he'd heard when he was abroad, about Kachi's father being threatened and this Zorro character had been mentioned. He'd heard about men being shot and his friend at the center of it all. Azu and Kachi had kept the story from him and Bode didn't know about it. But if Azu was hurrying over at the mention of Zorro and Kachi meeting up, then there had to be some truths to the rumors.
