60~When it gets messy

Aria: Hello, sorry for just barging into your DM but can I ask you something?

Rose: No problem. What is it?

Aria: Do you know this man?
(She attached one of the photos Rose had posted)

Rose: Lol. Yes of course. We're currently at our engagement party so I do know him.

Aria: How long have you guys been together?

Rose: About five to six years. I'm not sure because we're off and sometimes.

Rose: Why are you asking though? Do you know him?

Aria considered saying yes that she was Kachi's girlfriend but realized she'd be the bigger fool. After all, Kachi had made his choice and was getting married to Rose. She dropped her phone on the center table and bent her head, tears falling freely down her face. Pete gathered her close, murmuring comforting words to her and patting her shoulder.

"I think I should confront him," Aria declared, immediately sitting up. "Yes." She nodded her head and began wiping her wet eyes and nose. "He has to explain this to me so I understand. There has to be a reasonable explanation for why he did this to me right?"

Pete looked at his friend, a little bit scared of the look he saw in her eyes. She was more than hurting and he feared confronting Kachi in the state she was in was the bad choice. He wasn't sure what she needed, but meeting that cheating bastard shouldn't be on her mind.

"I don't think so. You should just accept it as is and try to move on."

"I need closure to move on. At the very least I deserve an apology!"

Yes! She had to meet him. She was sure there would be some explanation for what was happening. Maybe the Rose girl was lying to her. Three was no way she'd wrongly interpreted his actions towards her. Kachi cared for her deeply, this much she knew.

But they'd kissed, she remembered. The picture was painfully etched in her memory and she knew it wouldn't be leaving soon but she would give him the benefit of the doubt, and at least let him explain to her. She picked up her phone and considered calling. She didn't want him to know something was up else he'd get defensive. She needed to be natural and hold everything in till they were face to face, at least that way she could easily read him and give him a much needed slap if necessary.

However, one word from her and he'd know something was up. There was no way to hide the the fact that she was upset so she decided on a text, a simple text asking where he was. Kachi responded immediately, saying that he was at his other house in Ikeja. She asked if she could come over and he said yes.

Aria turned to Pete. "Can you drop me off on your way home? His house is about ten minutes away from your apartment."

Pete still believed this was a terrible idea but how would he stop her? "Maybe not tonight eh? Take some time and clear your head, in the morning you can talk to him."

"I'll call an Uber if you won't drop me. There's nothing you say that will change my mind."

He sighed then rose to his feet. "Fine, but you have to promise to call if anything happens."

Kachi was boiling, he'd never felt this much rage before and even the few drinks he'd taken to relax were not helping at all. 

"Kachi what's going on? Your mood is kinda scary right now." Ada asked, taking a seat beside me.

"Chike, come get your woman please. You've asked me this question so many times and I've said that I'm fine! Nothing is going on."

Chike turned to watch the two people; Ada with worry written over her features and Kachi with so much anger.

Ada placed a hand on Kachi's arm and squeezed it, Chike watched as his friend froze at the contact. Before he could say anything, Kachi exploded. He pushed the hand away from him roughly and stood up. Chike's eyes widened and he ran to where Ada was cradling her arm.

"What the fuck! Guy! You could have injured her." Chike was pissed now. He didn't understand what was happening with the taller man but he didn't appreciate the way he was treating Ada.

"Chi, I'm fine. I think I'll just go home and leave you guys to it." Ada picked her purse from the couch beside her then stood, coming to hug Chike. She cast worried glances at Kachi before whispering, "I'm not sure what's going on but please help him out. You know how Kachi's anger can be terrible. Don't let him do anything stupid."

Chike waited till she was gone before going to sit beside Kachi who had resumed his seating position and was now typing on his phone, a dark gaze on his face.

"Guy, what did Rose show you and what is happening with you? You better start talking before I hit you for mistreating Ada."

"Zariah has been snooping into my business, that bitch!" He pushed up from the chair and began to pace. "She went around digging up information on me. She doesn't trust me."

"Bitch? Really? I know you're mad but this is the woman you're dating. The same woman that made you spend all that money to free yourself from Rose."

"Exactly! The woman I love and yet she didn't trust me. I wonder what it is she was looking for... Maybe it's money, maybe that's all she was ever interested in."

"I don't understand. Can you start from when you talked with Rose?"

"Rose showed me their chat. How did Zariah know to chat her up? She asked her if she knew me and what relationship Rose had with me. Can you imagine? What right does she have to do that?" He stopped his pacing to hit the wall with his fist. "She was never into me, I'm sure. This woman had other plans."

"Kachi, chill! You can't know till you guys talk about it. What did Rose tell her?"

"About what?"

"When she asked about the relationship between you and Rose, what did Rose say?"

"She said we were engaged." Kachi frowned.

"Wait, wait. You're telling me that Aria thinks you've been cheating on her?"

"The fuck I care! That's not what is important."

"Kachi, you're fucked. Right now, it doesn't matter what way she found out. What matters is that the woman you're in love with thinks you've been cheating on her. Why can't you see that you've fucked up?"

Just then, there was a knock on the door and the two men turned to look at the door. "She's here," Kachi said and Chike stared at him with widened eyes.

"Aria is here? Man this is going to get really messy."
