after a long flight to beijing, we made it to the olympic village.
were here for a week before the olympics start.
the village is cute, i have sarah, racheal & amy as my roommates for this trip. were stuck here in this olympic bubble, due to the pandemic.
i dont really know my roommates well, but we will be spending a lot of time together over these next few weeks.
"we dont get much contact with other teams of other sports. were sealed off from the world. we test daily. like theres barricades around the grounds." i said to my mom over facetime. i showed her around our apartment
"wow." she said
"its weird. i feel like im in a different world. were about to go adventure to the dining hall so ill will call you later." i said
"okay. love you! be safe!" she said before hanging up.
as we walked to the dining hall, we said hi to other athletes.
after eating in our cubicles, we looked for things to do here.
shopping, a hair salon, VR games, video games, trading pins with other athletes, and gyms.
of course hanging out in our rooms.
we wondered around the grounds, i saw owen from a distance and waved.
he looked at me & smiled.
i love that smile.
i couldn't get close to him or hug him in the open, which was hard.
we went back to our rooms to hangout together, getting to know each other more.
owen: hey
katie: hey
owen: what room you in?
katie: 275
owen: coming!
katie: shut up
i got up, walking to the hallway, "katie, where you going?" a teammate asked
i didnt respond, i just closed the door and looked down the hallway
i saw owen turn the corner and look one way before looking at me
i ran to him, and hugged him
"hey babe." he said
"hi OP." i smiled
"what are you doing?" he asked, setting me down
"talking to my roommates, what are you doing?"
"getting away from my roommates." he laughed
"wanna go find a bathroom?" i joked
he made a face before laughing with me.
"were gonna make a baby at the olympics"
"shh owen." i shushed him
"it'd be funny." he said
"you boy." i laughed
i looked at me & what i was wearing.
"my american dream." he said
"my maple leaf tree." i laughed
he made a shocked face, "i came to visit you and you're gonna be rude? katherine."
"now im really gonna to be rude."
"i hope they announce you as katherine." he said
"i hope they forget about you in the roster." i pushed him a little
