"Because you aren't necessary." Scott growled, looking down at the 20-something drug-addicted employee. His name was Matt. Not that that mattered anymore. He was basically a pity hire and after proving that he's good at nothing, Scott deemed him unnecessary.
"I need this job, man!" Matt yelled back, edging closer and closer to Scott, who only drew himself up and straightened his spine.
"No, what you need is to leave this office." Scott demanded, pointing to the door.
Everything following happened in quick succession. Matt went to get closer to Scott's face. Scott pulled a knife from his pocket and swung it. The employee staggered backwards, clutching at his slashed throat. A gurgle bubbled from his mouth and Scott stepped backwards as the employee collapsed, blood gushing from his agape mouth.
Scott scoffed in disgust and stormed out of the office, throwing the knife to the ground. He blew past Afton in the hall in a burning rage.
Out of curiosity, Afton peaked into the office and saw the thick black ooze creeping towards his shoes. Looking up, he saw the body on the floor, the still twitching employee. Afton remember him, but barely. He had been doing an injection in the parts and service room one time when Afton walked in on him.
"Scotty dearest, you need to learn how to be discrete." Afton smiled to himself. He shut the door behind him and walked up to the employee. A swift stomp to his neck ended the twitching. "Now to clean you up."
it had been a lot of work to get the body into the dumpster with all that dead weight flopping around. Too many arms and legs. Afton decided to cut his limbs off and put them in one by one. Saved his back a lot of trouble. Afton flopped onto the couch in Scott's office, watching the hydrogen peroxide he had poured on the floor, bubble and hiss. He undid the buttons on his shirt and stripped it off, throwing it to the floor and spread himself out on the couch, tilting his head upwards, relishing the cool air."Oh Scotty..." He sighed, closing his eyes. "This is the fifth one this month... I really should get you help."
"I don't need help." Scott's almost robotic voice said. Afton jumped, looking towards the open door. Scott slammed it shut and ripped the phone off his head, throwing it to the ground.
"Of course not, my love. I enjoy you too much this way, anyways. Come here." Afton held his arms out, invitingly. Scott instead chose to sit on the opposite side of the couch.
"I mean, is it so fucking hard to just accept that you've been fired? It's better than the alternative." Scott whined, running his hands through his hair. He took his glasses off and fiddled with them in his hands.
"You know this generation..." Afton whispered, hooking an arm around Scott's shoulders. He pulled him against his body, letting his head settle on his chest. "They don't take well to authority."
Scott sighed, drawing little shapes on Afton's bare skin with his finger, it made chills rise. "I love you..." Scott murmured, turning his head to kiss Afton's chest, letting his glasses fall to the floor. "I'm just strung out, I guess. Corporates asking so much of me, now."
"It's not fair to you, I know. It'll be okay. I'll help you handle this. Just give me things to do." Afton kissed Scott's forehead and reached down to pull his legs up and across his body. Scott let himself be held, comfortable in Afton's arms.
"Thank you..."
