"Ugh." Scott groaned, stretching on his bed and throwing his glasses onto the nightstand. He was wearing a grey t-shirt with the Star Wars emblem across the front. The rest of the shared dorm was fit to match his dress style with movie posters including Star Treck, Star Wars, E.T., and Indiana Jones: Raider of the Lost Arc. There were action figures and quite literally anything to get a nerds heart racing. His roommate rolled over onto his side and threw his book to the side.

"We need to do something." He complained and Scott snorted.

"It's raining and I don't feel like getting wet." He said, pointing to the curtained window, which Nelson reached over and peaked out. He squinted his eyes and moaned, flopping back onto the bed. Scott was staring at the ceiling, not being able to register anything without his glasses, so he was actually just happily staring into the void.

"Not even to go to Cindy's?" Nelson prodded and Scott let his head fall over to the side to give his roommate a deadpanned glare. "Come on man, you score a hot girl friend and you won't even risk the rain for her? Where's the chivalry?"

"Mmmmghh." Scott groaned and grabbed his phone to pull up his messages. Cindy had texted him. He smiled softly, looking at the sweet message and then at her profile picture. She was pretty, long brown hair, soft features, large brown eyes, and a brilliant smile. Scott sighed and let the phone fall on his chest. Despite his interests, he was a magnet for women. It shocked some people, but it was true, Scott was attractive. He was cute and kind and a wonderful listener, and on top of that, he could (and would if you let him) talk for hours about just about anything. Cindy was wonderful in the same sense. She loved all of the nerd things while still being popular and girly.

She had taken to Scott immediately, the first day of their shared business class on finance (shivers). They ended up meeting up almost every day to talk about things and go see movies and read books together and Scott found himself in heaven.

The text she had sent him was simple, but made butterflies swarm in his stomach:

I know it's raining and you probably don't feel like crossing campus, and neither do I so in that case, I love you Scotty and you make me so happy and I wouldn't want anybody else, and I hope you stay dry and I love you I love you I love you! Kisses!

Scott picked up his phone from his chest and read it again. And again. And again. She wouldn't be around forever, they both knew that. She had decided to study abroad (not the only time this will happen to Scotty), and so she would be leaving after next semester. They decided to live it up now, and so with that in mind, Scott stood up and threw a sweatshirt on and a pair of converse, which he knew would get absolutely soaked, and left the dorm with Nelson's clapping behind him. Nelson has been a stunning hype man.

After hopping on and off a campus bus, run through the rain, and nearly slipped into the dorm building, Scott stood in the lobby area, fixing his hair, before walking up the stairs to the third floor where Cindy's door was. He knocked on the door and he heard the soft pat of sock feet come towards it. When Scott saw her there his heart seemed to implode and he smiled, down at her. She squealed and wrapped her arms around Scott's neck, pulling him down and slamming her lips against his.

"Aw! Scotty!" She said excitedly and jumped up, wrapping her legs around his hips. He caught her and walked into the dorm, kicking the door shut with his foot. He stepped on the back of one shoe, taking it off and did the same with the other one, before throwing her on the bed. She grinned widely at him, her beautiful brown hair (can you tell I love brown hair yet?) spreading over the pillow. "I knew you'd come!" She cried and Scott smiled, nuzzling into her neck and breathing in her perfume.

"You know you can't just write a cute little message like that and not expect me to come over. Besides, you're better company than Nelson." She gave a mock gasp.
