For reference this is going to be about Scott and Afton. Though it's what branch of the army they are going into. Scott is in the Navy and is currently stationed on a Aircraft Carrier. Afton is in the Airforce (because, duh, that just matches his energy).

Here we go bastards and sexy bitches.

"Get up and get out there, we have landing birds at 0500!" The angry sergeant came bustling into the room, yelling as he always did for just about everything until that one vein bulged in his neck. Scott and the rest of his commandment stood, their seats shoving behind them as they quickly saluted the sergeant's entrance. "Callahan, you're in lead, we need this done, boys!" He shouted and they burst into motion, rushing from the dining area and to the top of the deck.

Scott was first to breach the stairs and the hot sun greeted him. He squinted into it, raising a hand momentarily to shield his eyes before stepping out for the rest of his companions to follow him up. The sky was crystal blue, nothing but two puffy white clouds were on the horizon. There should be no trouble with this landing. He smiled confidently, the salty air tickled his nose.

"Red, grab the buckets and Travis, ready the hose. I need four on brooms and four on mops." Scott directed, snatching a wide broom in his own had and rushed to the main port, followed by the other men with brooms. Cleaning wasn't horrible, but it was hot and the pressure combined with the strength required to merely push the broom, nearly put boot camp to shame. Men with mops quickly came behind them. It shouldn't take too long, considering the fact that the deck was cleaned the night prior and no activity had taken place in the past six hours, but the salt in the air could make the deck slippery or, adversely, sticky and cause problems either way.

The unguarded edge of the deck leered in front of him, the daunting crashing of the waves met his ears. It almost felt like a challenge. A dive, he would not ever be taking if he could help it. Once the deck cleaning was complete, Scott took to readying the hooks and line to catch on the planes and stop them from landing out of control. It would be quick and easy, one after the other if everything was set up properly.

A few years back - the last time Scott had been on an aircraft carrier - the lines had been messed up and they were delayed an hour, nearly risking the lives of the pilots already suffering on low fuel. Everything had worked out, fortunately, but now that Scott was a commander of his own, he would rather take that horrifying dive into the sea than risk another disaster like that under his control.

The whole process took about fifty minutes in total and when Scott's watch beeped violently at him, flashing 0450, he rounded everybody up and the shuffled towards the main compartment to prepare to greet the pilots.

——

His ass hurt and he was sure his neck would forever be bent at such an unfortunate angle, but the sight of the carrier down in the blue in front of him, brought excitement through his sleepy state. It had been another routine bombing, as disgusting as that may seem, it was only necessary. He fuel light flashed him and he flicked it off without a care.

"This is Hawk2 requesting landing at port 05." (Call sign is Hawk2 because when first training in a plane years ago, Afton managed to hit two hawks flat on his windshield within a forty minute flight). Afton called, activating his coms. He waited a response, nearing the landing. Possibly one of the smoothest voices over intercom came in response.

"Hawk2, you and your squadron are free to land." Afton grinned and switched channels.

"Alright boys and IV (the only girl in Afton's squadron), we are free to land, I recommend you get in a single file line, now. I know that's hard for some of you, but I believe." Afton said, his smile coming though in his voice.

"Don't get cocky now, captain." IV retorted through the com.

"Hey now, whether ya'll can land or not depends on my ability to get this hunk of metal to stay on a port. Don't jinx us now." Afton snorted and slowly pulled back on the joystick and watched the deck loom in front of him, filling his windshield. He howled with laughter, as his wheels hit smoothly, he flew forwards, the Naval crew just little specks on the deck until he felt the catch and was halted. He heard the screeching of his squadron pulling up behind him.

"Closed up the rear, sir, we are all here." IV said, officially ending their flight.

Afton's Boeing EA-18G Growler, whirred to a stop and he let out a breath that he had been holding for a long time. He pressed a button and the cockpits roof slid up and back on the plane, and the salty air engulfed him in it's sticky humidity. He ripped his mask off, inhaling deeply.

"Wooo..." He called out, standing on shaky legs, there was a ladder propped on the wing beside him and he climbed down, his feet landing on the solid mat of the deck. He reached up and took his helmet off, grinning at the crew that was already rushed around the deck. A man came up to him, dressed in the Naval jumpsuit. He was tall and wore glasses and had short hair and sun tanned skin and the brightest smile Afton thought he had ever seen.

"Commissioned Officer Callahan, sir." The tall man said, saluting Afton with a hand to his temple. Afton returned the gesture, immediately recognizing that voice as the voice that told him to land just moments before.

"Squadron Leader Afton to you as well." Afton said, biting the inside of his lip to keep the returning grin held back. It was contagious he had to admit. He undid the Velcro of his breast pocket and whipped out a pair of Raybands aviator's and put then on his face, finally allowing the grin to rise to his lips. "And this is Squadron Kilo Sierra 4."

THIS WAS JUST THE BETA I DON'T HAVE TIME TO FINISH BUT I WANT THIS IN THE PUBLIC! AND NO I HAVE NOT WATCH TOP GUN 2 YET SO KEEP IT TO YOURSELF!
