This is going to be a really short chapter and I'm making it because it came up in the comment section of the previous chapter. (Also there might be something that has to do with... this... if you get what I mean. *wink*)
So basically, Afton slowly began to regain memory of who he was and what he did. His memory was very selective, though, and chose to remember very specific things and very specific pleasures.
When Scott noticed the development of Afton's memories, he began realizing his own desires. He knew what Afton did and who he was, the whole world did, he was the biggest news for a while.
Freddy's is a very unstable and dark business to work in or become involved with. When Scott became manager, his killcount was already spiked from second degree murders. He would send problematic employee's to work the nightshift. They were usually dead by the third night and they would be promptly cleaned without any questions. If they survived, they would be permanently instated on the nightguard rotation.
But Scott quickly realized that sending people to their deaths wasn't satisfactory enough and didn't handle the problem nearly as well as he'd like. That's where Afton comes in. He was quick, clean, and efficient. He was a master of murder. And he absolutely slayed (get it? Get it? Pun? Slay? Lmao kill me)
Scott always knew what Afton was doing behind closed doors and he did nothing about it, in fact, he became very slick at covering things up. Sweeping over Afton's tracks with snake like ability. They got away with many, many murders of many, many people. And because of the black market function of Freddy's they were never under suspicion.
Remember, sweep it under the rug. It's probably fine.
Probably.
