Prompt 3 : Hair's Breadth From Death

Chronology : Season 1 finale but it's Taylor that falls out of the van instead of Tyler
Warnings : Blood and severe injury

The door swung open and Taylor went flying out of the van. Tyler was screaming to turn back, but there was no time, and he was forced to watch as his sister tumbled like a ragdoll and fell onto a tree, the wood impaling her like a fork going into cheese.

They all woke up at the same time and immediately looked over to Taylor, who was bleeding and coughing profusely. There was blood everywhere and a big dark spot in her chest, showing that the wound had in fact translated into the real world as well. Her heartbeat was far more audible than it should've been, and her skin was pale from blood loss. Tyler felt sick to his stomach and he and Logan were both frozen in shock, leaving Ashlyn, Aidan, and Ben alone to help her.

"SOMEONE CALL AN AMBULANCE!" Ashlyn screamed at the others, which also alerted the parents outside that something was wrong. "Logan, Tyler" she turned her attention to the shaking boys. "Talk to our parents" she instructed, and they both shakily went outside the bus to try and explain what the issue was without sounding crazy.

Aidan pulled out his phone and began talking on the phone while Ben tried to put pressure on the wound, taking off his shirt and putting it underneath the bleeding girl to try and stem the bleeding to the best of his ability. Taylor was hanging on by a thread, her eyes drooping a bit as she suddenly felt very tired.

"No, stay awake" Ashlyn begged her, voice cracking slightly with fear. "You'll be okay, just stay awake, an ambulance is coming"

"Ash, I-"

"No" the ginger cut her off firmly. "Don't try to talk, you need to conserve your energy as much as possible" she instructed. "You'll be okay. Your brother and Logan are alerting our parents and Aidan is currently calling you an ambulance" she told her, seeing as Taylor wasn't properly taking in what was happening around her. "Ben is trying to stem the bleeding. You got impaled by a tree in the dream realm, I..." she swallowed harshly. "I guess it carried over"

"The ambulance is on its way" Aidan informed, not smiling for the first time in a while. A bead of sweat ran down Ben's forehead as he tried to keep the bleeding as reduced as possible. "You're doing great, big guy" A nod from the mute. "You think the doctors can fix this, Ash?"

"They'd better"
