Ross shut off his camera and stared into space for a bit. Shelby's desperate pleas and cries eventually stopped. When he came back to his senses, he halfheartedly went over to the pulsating pit of horrors he'd trapped her in to see if her nametag was still visible, but found nothing, indicating her demise. The small, rational part of his brain that remained somewhere in the hazy depths of his mind screamed at him. Told him that he should be horrified with himself over what he'd just done to his friend.

However, the Ross that stood in front of the pit could find no emotion to pair with the situation. Not a hint of remorse or guilt nor pride over what he'd done. His mind was foggy as ever, and occasionally short bursts of intrusive thoughts would spiral in his mind. All he could bring himself to do was look up at the Red Sun for a moment before going to work on the exhibit for the next episode. After all, he had a duty to fulfill.

A duty to fulfill for the Red Sun.
