Chapter 3: Meeting Eramis

Jason POV

Well this is just great

I've been captured by the House of Salvation and now Ghost has been frozen so I can't call for help and I can't use the light at all. My best course of action is just to do what they say and try my best to not anger them.

The two barons are leading me in front and the captains are behind me who stored my weapons on their backs. I see us arrive at the window where I was staring before. I still don't know why I didn't run or hide better.

Why did I do that?

My best guess was that I was kinda taken aback by how well Eramis speech was. Hell, I'm not Eliksni but I'd be inspired if the speech didn't involve taking over Europa.

She has a great voice.

Wait, what am I saying? I gotta stop thinking this and just continue waking and try not to die.

I look over to the right and beyond the glass I see the room where the fallen were. Almost all of them were cleared out so all that remains was 1 baron and what seemed to be a captain with glowing purple eyes and of course Eramis.

When we get to the end of the hallway we turn left and there's platforms that you seem to have to jump up and down from. The 2 Barons jump down and I get pushed by one the captains.

Jason:"oof"

I luckily caught myself so it didn't hurt to bad but I continued moving on.

We arrive in the room with the pyramid and I finally get a feeling of what's gonna happen.

I am so screwed

I get a good look at Eramis up close and notice some things I don't notice before. One being her height, good god is she tall probably about 9 foot or even 10 feet tall. She also has one robotic arm on the upper set of arms. She has her cloak with ice spikes coming out the back collar. And even though I hate to admit it, her eyes are nice to look at.

Eramis:"It's brave of you pawn to show up at such a time, but it's foolish to not get out while you could"

I hear her voice up close for the first time and I have to admit it's a nice voice. Putting those thoughts at the back of my head. I look up at her and she stares at me through my visor.

She looks to the other baron I haven't met yet and gives them a look.

Eramis:" Phylaks, remove his helmet I want to get a better look at him"

So we have Eramis, Praksis, Kridis, and Phylaks good to know I guess

I look up and see Phylaks coming towards me I slightly back up but long strides get you far. I see her up close and her helmet looks similar to Kridis but it's shaped slightly like Eramises one but white.

With her lower set of arms she pulls the hood of my cloak back and finds the switch to disengage my helmet. She disengages the helmets allowed her to take of the helmet, albeit roughly but it could've been worse.

My face is exposed to the cold temperatures of Europa. It's not as cold as it is outside but it's still pretty cold in this room.

Phylaks steps back and keeps hold of my helmet in her hands. I gaze back up to Eramis and I see her tilt her head a bit to the right.

Eramis:"What we're you doing on Europa machine pawn?"

Jason:" I uh... I got a distress signal from Charons Crossing

Eramis let's put what is probably the Eliksni equivalent of a growl before speaking again.

Eramis:" I knew we should have delt with Variks better"

Eramis:" now answer me this guardian why instead of fighting or fleeing you simply waved and stood there?"

Her tone was dripping with venom and but still sounded like she was teasing me. I knew it would be no use trying anything now especially so I need to answer truthfully.

Jason:"I couldn't tell you if I wanted to, I genuinely don't know why"

I look to see Phylaks examining my helmet and I can tell there's some shock to her eyes. She steps behind me to examine the cloak I'm wearing now and she starts chuckling.

Phylaks:" Eramiskel, we have truly been blessed today"

Eramis:" why are you saying such things Phylaks?"

Phylaks:" it seems the slayer of Oryx, Callus, and Skolas is standing in this room with us"

Eramis looks back at me and I see her eyes tilt up like she's grinning behind the mask she's wearing.

Eramis:" I can see the heart of a warrior when I see one, but I didn't expect the Pawn who decided to wave would be the God killer himself"

I can't tell where this is going it almost sounds like she complimenting me but it doesn't at the same time.

Eramis: "Hmph, I have an idea pawn"

Jason:" excuse me?"

Eramis:" since your the Guardian to have killed many gods how about we make a deal that would benefit us both"

Jason: "What kind of deal?"

I see her nod to the other barons and they seem to leave other than Kridis.

Eramis:" Your a pawn following a false god, the great machine will not help you when you need it most. But I can help with that Guardian, I can help break you free".

Eramis:" Our deal is, You join the House of Salvation and in return we won't attack that Last city of yours"

Eramis:"so do we have a deal?"
