Chapter 21: The Flower

Jason POV

Jason:" Cadmus ridge is clear no sign of any Vex activity"

Phylaks:" Good"

Jason:" Soooo... we done for today then?"

Phylaks: "Yes you are. Come back and report to Eramis when you've returned"

Jason:" Got it"

I hear a click indicating that she's hanged up the comm so I do the same. I was doing some scout work to see if the Vex transponder worked and so far it's seemed to have worked.

I start walking back to my sparrow when I see something that catches my eye. It's a... flower

It's near a shift in between the ground of ice and I see them sticking out of the snow. They're a rich blue coloring with purple in the middle. On the edges is a white coloring with bits of snow sticking to the sides of it. They look nice and to be honest it's nice to see some more life in this area besides a small bug or two.

I realize that Eramis may like it so I decide it maybe a good idea to take one. I get in my knees and I slowly break the stem away from the ground beneath it and lift it up. I couldn't smell it due to my helmet on but I put it on the inside of my hood so it won't get lost.

After that I get back to my sparrow and drive back home.

Timeskip

I arrive back at Riis-Reborn and I get off my sparrow and start to walk towards where Eramis most likely is.

After a few minutes of waking I arrive at a overlook of a frozen city where me and Eramis held hands for the first time. I see the tall Eliksni standing there and I decide to make my presence know to her.

Jason:" The Vex transponder seems to be working, there were no Vex in Cadmus Ridge today"

Eramis:" Oh your back! That's good news though it better have been worth going to that...city"

Jason:" It was worth it, now we won't have to deal with Vex anymore on Europa. So no more Eliksni get killed"

Eramis:" Always the optimistic one Jason... I just wish I could share your optimism sometimes"

I can tell that going to the tower really took a bite out of her. Seeing the thing that broke apart your people must not have been an easy sight, but I'll help her and comfort her. I don't want my love to feel bad like this.

Jason:" Hey I uh, got you something Eramis"

I reach into my hood and pull out the large flower I found. I see her head turn my way and I see her eyes open wider than normal. She then kneels down to get a look at it and gently takes it in her prosthetic hand. She switches her ether intake off so she can smells the flower and I hear a slight sniff come from behind her mask.

She clicks the ether intake back on and resumes the ether flow. She then gently feels the flowers pedals with one of her other hands. I see her look back up to me and the eyes start to squint up to show she's smiling behind her helmet.

Eramis:" I'm Eliksni culture mates give flowers to show their— appreciation to another. Is this your intention my love?"

Jason:" 100 percent I thought you'd like it since it's beautiful... like you"

Eramis: Your not good at the flirting thing are you~?"

Jason: " Im trying my best. But do you like it"

Eramis:" Yes, it is beautiful. I thank you for this sign of appreciation."

Jason:" No problem, I love seeing you happy like this"

Eramis:" hmm, As your Kell I see it reasonable that you receive a........ reward~"

She then hooks under my chin with her lower arms to bull my face to look up at her. She then slowly lifts her hand away and then stands up.

Eramis:" Do you accept my proposal... my pawn~"

Jason:" Yes! I mean uh.. let's I uh- go"

She then starts to walk toward the direction of our room and I quickly follow behind.

This is gonna be a fun night
