"Come on Max, get a move on. We're going to be late!" Savannah told her reluctant son.
"But I don't want to go to school," he whined. "It's my birthday! I shouldn't have to go on my birthday!"
"Tough. You're going, and that's it!" She yanked the back door of the car open and pointed inside.
"Come on Maxi, it will be fun," said Casey, who was already strapped into her booster seat. Max slung his bag inside and climbed in, a sulky look on his face.
Savannah went back to the front door and locked it before getting into the car.
"You got your belt on?" she asked him.
"Yes," he said. Savannah put her own belt on. Then she started the car up. If she was honest with herself she was glad the kids were starting school today. She hadn't had a minute to herself for what seemed like forever. Casey had woken up just after six as she'd been so excited. She'd had to basically drag Max out of bed at half past seven.
She smiled as she pulled onto the lane, wondering if Seb had left to take the girls yet. He'd texted her the day before just to say hi. He really was the nicest guy. And sexy as hell, she thought to herself.
The drive didn't take long. Ten minutes later she was walking into the playground holding Casey's hand. Max refused to hold her hand. He was too grown up for that now. To her delight she spotted Seb straight away, he was stood in the far corner with Oliver in a red stroller, watching his girls running around playing tag with some other children. Casey had spotted him too.
"Sepastinun!" she called out, dropping Savannah's hand and running over to him. Savannah saw a smile spread over his face as he saw Casey running towards him. He held his arms out and as she reached him he lifted her off of the ground and span her around. Savannah and Max headed over.
"Good morning," she said to him, before crouching down to say hi to Oliver, who gave her a big smile.
"Morning Savannah, morning Max. Happy birthday!"
"Thanks," Max grunted.
"How are you?"
"Oh I'm fine," she replied. "Bit tired. Little lady had me up early."
"Overexcited?"
"Yeah. I wish this one was. Max is a bit reluctant, aren't you buddy?" Max grunted again.
"You'll love it Max. It's a great school. Myah and Heidi love it here. Do you know who your teacher is yet?"
"No."
"It's Frau Larsen. And Casey has Frau Lehman." Seb have a small laugh.
"Same as my girls."
"That's great. At least they'll know someone. Hear that Max, you're in the same class as Myah." Another grunt.
Savannah rolled her eyes and began to discreetly check Seb out. He looked as gorgeous as always. Today he was wearing a pair of faded blue jeans. Tight, faded blue jeans. She began to look forward to him turning around so she could get a good view of his sexy denim clad arse. He was wearing a baggy dark grey T-shirt and had a pair of sunglasses hanging off the collar. His hair was the tidiest she'd ever seen it, he'd tamed his curls with some gel or mousse, and tucked it behind his ears. As she took in his stubble she remembered how it had felt on her cheek on Saturday night.
Seb discreetly checked Savannah out as they waited for the teachers to come out and collect the children. She looked sexy as hell in a green and white tropical print maxi dress. She'd left her hair hanging loose and Seb began to imagine what it would look like spread out over his pillow.
