The sun had started to sink low in the sky and the night was drawing in. Savannah was curled up on her sun lounger, which Seb had moved over to the paved area near to the house. She'd had a few drinks, and although not drunk, was feeling relaxed and chilled out. The rest of the guests had all made themselves comfortable in various chairs that were scattered around, apart from Maddy who had taken the five children inside and was currently watching some Disney movie with them in the playroom.
It was starting to get a little chilly and she felt herself shiver slightly. As if from nowhere, Seb appeared at the side of her sun longer with a blue and red plaid fleece blanket in his hand. He draped it over her legs, smiling kindly at her.
"Thank you," she told him.
"You're welcome. I saw you shivering. Did you want to borrow a hoodie or something?"
"No, the blanket is fine, thank you." She heard the sound of claws on the paving slabs and looked down to see Rufus staring up at her. "Hey Rufe. You coming up?" She patted her lap and the spaniel jumped up and sat down on her, making himself comfortable.
Seb reached out and scratched the dog behind his ears. Savannah stared at his hand, he really had the most beautiful hands. In fact, there wasn't a part of him that wasn't beautiful.
She cast her mind back to the sight of his body when he'd climbed out of the pool earlier. The way the sun had glistened on his wet torso, the way his wet trunks had clung to his thighs. She found herself longing to run her hands over his chest, to feel his slight sprinkling of chest hair under her palms.
Then she thought of how he'd looked manning the barbecue. The navy and white striped apron he'd donned over his shorts and white T-shirt had done nothing to dent his masculinity. He was all man! And she'd almost been consumed with lust for him when he'd tied a red and white bandanna around his head to keep his hair out of his eyes.
Seb sat down on the end of the lounger and continued to fuss over Rufus. Savannah almost felt jealous of the attention the Spaniel was getting.
Her feelings towards Seb had left her confused. She knew she wasn't looking for a relationship. She knew she wasn't the sort of woman who would indulge in a one-night stand or no strings sex, so why couldn't she stop having indecent thoughts about her sexy neighbour?
Everything about the damn man attracted her. His smile, his eyes, his body, his love for his children, the way he had been going out of his way all afternoon and evening to make sure she had everything she needed. The minute he'd spotted her without a drink in her hand he'd been by her side in a flash with a new one.
She wasn't the only one that seemed to have developed an obsession with him. Casey had followed him around like a little sheep all day. She adored "Sepastinun". It had taken the promise of The Little Mermaid to get her to go inside with Maddy.
Savannah glanced around at everyone else. Antti was sat talking to Seb's friend, Stefan. They were laughing about something. Britta was engaged in a conversation with Stefan's wife, Alannah.
Of everyone she'd met today the red headed woman was the only one that she didn't like. She didn't know why but she got a bad vibe from her.
She looked to her left as she heard the sound of a deckchair being dragged across the patio. She smiled as she saw Seb's gardener, Luca, setting his chair down next to her lounger.
"Hey," he said to her and Seb.
"Hey," she replied, smiling at him. She hadn't really spoken to him much so far as he'd been hanging out with Stefan and Antti, but he seemed like a nice guy.
