(I've been skipping meh updates lately... That's really concerning! 'I'M A DRAGON NOW?!' is still on the complication stage, ready to cause more chaos if I ever get there somehow. Anyway... This oneshot is short and contains angst. Yes, angst. We all love our angst don't we?)

Left.

Right.

Duck.

Sliding in between.

Dodge.

The Legendary Dragon Sword clashed against the Legendary Staff.

Wrist getting tired.

Muscles aching in pain.

How long were they fighting now?

Has an hour gone by?

No...

Not an hour.

Precisely fifteen minutes... sixteen minutes now.

There was a lot of panting.

Heart rate beating faster than normal.

Adrenaline rushed through the two friends...

Foes.

"MK! Please stop! I don't want to fight you anymore!"

The girl who's descendent from dragons cried out.

Her words couldn't reach him.

The successor of the great sage who's equal to Heaven continued to send attacks to her.

She felt weak.

MK's getting stronger and stronger.

Surrendering might end this.

But then again, she refuses to give up.

Not now.

Not until she could say she tried everything.

Even if it kills her.

.....

"Are you sure about this, dragon girl?" The red headed demon asked her.

"Macaque did say the MK we know is still there," she placed her short sword on her palms.

"What if he's not? What if that monkey over there is wrong?" The demon pointed at the Six-Eared Macaque who's crossing his arms together.

"Its a chance we just have to take Red."

Red gazed down, he knew there's no convincing her.

"You've known the kid for a long time. I'm sure you can get through him Mei," the dark monkey placed his hand on her shoulder.

"I can. I promise I will turn MK back to normal!" She smiled at the two. The only two unshackled people left she cared about. The others were trapped in the void.

She'll have to defeat him to get them all back to normal.

.....

"MK! I know you're still there... Somewhere. Hopefully..." She muttered the last part under her breath.

She immediately yelped in pain, dropping the blade.

The staff hit her stomach.. It was so sudden and unexpected.

She was bound on the wall.

She didn't bother lifting the staff away.

Only the Monkey King and MK can carry and lift it.

The friend whom she loved and cared for appeared in front of her, giving her his goofy smile.

That grin.. How she missed it so badly...

The memories flooded back through her again.

She carelessly placed her hand on his cheek.

"MK...?"

She wanted to believe it..

"Sorry my sweetheart Mei-Mei, but that MK is gone."

MK griped hard on her wrist. His face closed in towards hers.

Goofy smile still intact.

His eyes sparked for something. Something she couldn't quite place.

Yet... she knew what it was.

It ignited for the rush of the kill.

As soon as he loosened the staff, Mei quickly picked up her blade and gave herself distance from him.

She gathered her thoughts for a plan, then an idea arouse from her mind.

Using all of her strength, she threw her sword at him.

MK easily caught it.

It may not have been the best plan after all..

"You shouldn't have done that!"

He rushed to her and swiftly slashed her.

Mei gritted her teeth, "the MK I know wouldn't hurt me."

The dragon girl lift out her arms, indicating for him to try and hurt her.

"Then you gave me too much credit for that,"

She prepared herself from the next attack...

Each cut, she hastily burn it with her fire.

Again.

Again.

Again.

And again.

MK didn't stop.

Mei didn't bother to fight back.

It kept coming and coming and coming.

She refuses to let the tears go down.

She wonders how long she can take it.

Feeling the pain surrounding through her body, it had been decreasing.

The Monkie Kid panted in exhaustion.

The slashes starts slowing down.

"Why? Why? WHY?!" The Monkie Kid yelled at her.

Tears were flowing down his face.

Mei wrapped her arms around him.

"Ssshhh... You're MK right?"

"Your one and only MK..." He wiped his eyes.

Mei giggled, then fell backwards as she lands on her back.

"MEI!" MK shouted at her, checking whether she was alright.

She wasn't alright.

She was dying.

The cuts were deep.

MK felt helpless.

"Mei, don't die yet! I only just..."

"I'm happy your back to normal."

"Mei..?"

Her eyes were dull.

Life was drained out of her in a flash.

So this was the price he had to pay for his naivety.

He shouldn't have touch that artifact that made him different.

And now...

The person he loved so much is...

G O N E .
